TOW BAR ARRANGEMENT FOR CONTROL OF A SELF-PROPELLED TRAILER
Tow bar arrangement (100) for interconnection of a pulling vehicle (10) and a pulled trailer (20). The arrangement (100) comprises a control device (110) with a force sensor (111) arranged to sense an instantaneous relative force between vehicle (10) and trailer (20). The control device (110) is arranged to produce a control signal for an electric motor (21) arranged to propel the trailer (20) so that a motor force counter-acts said measured force. The invention is characterised in that the control device (110) is arranged to a first time series of force measurements, in that the control device (110) comprises a low-pass filter (112) producing a second low-pass filtered time series, and in that a regulator (113) is ar-ranged to regulate said second time series to produce said control signal.
Anti-Sway Joint for Trailer
A combination trailer and hitch system for a motorcycle is configured to minimize and/or reduce sway of the trailer during use. The system includes a hitch having a coupler attachable to a trailer to be towed, a second coupler attachable to a motorcycle (or a mounting frame attached to the motorcycle) for towing the trailer, and at least a pair of connector arms pivotably fastened by one end to the first coupler and by an opposite end to the second coupler. The pivotable connections of the connector arms are spaced such that a longitudinal axis of each connector arm converges as they extend toward the rear axle of the motorcycle.
Bicycle trailer latch
A bicycle trailer latch comprises a skewer engaging surface that is desirably at least in part spherical, such as hemispherical. When engaging a bicycle skewer at the rear wheel of a bicycle, the spherical engagement surface allows more freedom of movement of the bicycle trailer relative to the skewer during towing. This enhances the trailers ability to track the movement of the bicycle. The latch can comprise a housing with a housing opening sized to receive the end portion of the bicycle wheel skewer. A stop inside the housing is pivotal to stop closed and stop open positions. In the stop closed position, the housing opening is sufficiently to block the decoupling of the latch from bicycle skewer. In the stop open position, the stop opens the housing opening sufficiently to permit passage of the end portion of the skewer through the housing opening.
Bicycle trailer pivot assembly
A bicycle trailer pivot assembly can comprise first and second yoke arms with respective first and second end portions and a pivot coupling the first end portion of each yoke arm to a bicycle trailer frame. The first end portions the yoke arms comprise respective first and second hinge portions that interfit and that receive a hinge pin that couples the first end portions together and to the bicycle trailer frame for pivoting about an upright axis. The first and second hinge portion comprise respective stops positioned to engage one another to limit the maximum distance to which the second end portions of the first and second yoke arms can be spread apart. The first and second hinge portions can comprise respective stops that limit both the maximum and minimum spread apart positions of the second end portions of the yoke arms.
Bicycle skewer with bicycle trailer couplers
A bicycle skewer for supporting a wheel of a bicycle between bicycle forks on opposite sides of the supported bicycle wheel comprises a skewer body having first and second end portions and a longitudinal axis about which a supported bicycle wheel pivots. In accordance with an embodiment, a first coupler is coupled to the first end portion of the skewer body and a second coupler is coupled to the second end portion of the skewer body; the bicycle wheel and forks being positioned between the first and second couplers. In addition, each of the first and second couplers comprise exterior surfaces at least a portion of which are spherical.
Pushchair accessory, and a transport assembly comprising a pushchair and such an accessory
A platform for a pushchair includes a frame with at least one wheel, and a device for reversibly connecting to the frame of a pushchair supported by the frame. The device can be attached between left and right uprights of the pushchair, belonging to left and right rear portions of the pushchair frame, parallel to and facing each other, with respective and second female housings. The device includes: first and second male elements moving relative to the frame between a connection position and a disconnection position; and a mechanism for activating the first and second male elements, this mechanism being suitable for: jointly moving, through the action of only one hand of a user, the first and second male elements from their connection position to their disconnection position; and automatically returning the first and second male elements from their disconnection position to their connection position.
Bicycle trailer
A bicycle trailer has a frame with a hitch portion that comprises first and second yoke arms with respective first end and second end portions. Skewer engagement latches can be coupled to the second end portions of the yoke arms. The skewer engagement latches can have stops that pivot between stop open and closed positions. In the stop open positions, respective end portions of a bicycle skewer can inserted into or separated from the latches. In the stop closed positions, respective end portions of the bicycle skewer, if positioned in respective latches, are retained coupled to the yoke arms by the latches. The stops are moved between open and closed positions by an actuator, such as by respective cable portions attached to the stop portions. Desirably the actuator simultaneously moves the stops between the open and closed positions. The latches can have skewer engagement surfaces that are least in part spherical.
Trailer system
A trailer system includes a chassis defining an axis and having a first section and a second section removably attached to the first section. A wheel assembly is attached to the first section that includes a single wheel and a lift mechanism arranged to raise and lower the chassis relative to the single wheel.
Bicycle rear article carrier convertable to a single-wheeled trailer
A bicycle rear article carrier that converts into a single-wheeled trailer is disclosed. The carrier is nearly indistinguishable in appearance and utility from conventional rear carriers, however, its folding and/or telescoping mechanisms incease bicycle cargo carrying capacity by a significant factor. A 12 inch quick-release wheel that is integral to the trailer unit can be stowed on the side of the rack without undue diminishment to carrier utility. If defined strictly as a trailer, the unit disappears and becomes fully integrated with the bicycle by a few quick moves, comprising a system of ergonomic efficiency, space economy and convenience.
