Vessel with stern positioned foil to reduce wave resistance
20230150610 · 2023-05-18 ·

The invention concerns a vessel for floating in a body of water, comprising a hull having an aft hull section and an aft body arranged at a distance from the aft hull section, thereby forming a passage into which water can flow. The aft body and the aft hull section are designed to minimize the vessel's stern wave during forward movements.

GROUND EFFECT CRAFT

A ground effect craft having a ground effect wing, a plurality of sponsons, and a control system is disclosed. The ground effect wing may include a fore ground effect wing and an aft ground effect wing. The ground effect wing may generate a stabilizing moment on at least one sponson to stabilize the ground effect craft. The plurality of sponsons may be dynamically coupled to the body. The plurality of sponsons may be dynamically coupled to each other. The dynamic coupling may permit the sponsons to move relatively independent of the body and each other, thereby stabilizing the ground effect craft. The ground effect craft may include a stabilizing wing.

Pontoon Boat with Planing Panels
20230365228 · 2023-11-16 ·

A pontoon boat has a planing panel located between pontoons and configured such that a substantial portion of the planing panel planes or rides on top of the water while the boat is traveling at planing speeds, thus reducing friction and increasing efficiency and maneuverability. The boat may be a “tritoon” boat having three laterally spaced pontoons, in which case at least two planing panels are provided in the spaces or gaps between each pair of adjacent pontoons. Each planing panel may be segmented from front to rear, with the rear segment(s) being higher than the front segment to enhance the ability of the bow of the boat to ride out of the water while preventing water from impinging against the rear of the boat's underdeck. An inclined panel may be provided in front of the planing panel to reduce wave impact energy.

HYDROFOIL SYSTEM AND MARINE VESSEL
20220250716 · 2022-08-11 · ·

The invention relates to a hydrofoil system for a marine vessel comprising a hull (101), the hydrofoil system comprising at least one pair of foldable hydrofoils (109, 110) which are pivoted relative to the marine vessel, wherein each hydrofoil (109, 110) is controllable by at least one actuator (930) for displacement of the at least one pair of foldable hydrofoils in a lateral direction of the marine vessel between a stowed position and a deployed position. Each foldable hydrofoil (109, 110) is hinged relative to the hull above the water line on opposite sides of the marine vessel. A first portion (111) of each hydrofoil extends adjacent the hull (101) towards the water line of the marine vessel when the hydrofoil is in the stowed position and a second portion (112) comprises a free second end extending under the hull. The second portion (112) is submerged and arranged in a lateral recess (107) behind a stepped hull portion (106) of the marine vessel when the hydrofoil is in the stowed position.

UNDERWATER SHIP ATTACHMENT USED TO DIVERT AIR, BUBBLES, DEBRIS, ICE, AND PRESSURE FLUCTUATIONS
20210316826 · 2021-10-14 ·

An objective of the present invention is to provide an underwater ship attachment that is used to divert air, debris, and pressure fluctuations. More specifically, the present invention discloses an anti-cavitation device (such as a diverter device) for flat-bottom boats. The air diverter has been developed to regain, enhance, and protect the operational function of propulsive and steering equipment among displacement and semi displacement hulls. As with protect items such as bottom mounted depth sounder transducers, intakes for engine or general cooling, sea chests, keel coolers, zincs, and all other underwater mounted items susceptible to air ingestion, air disturbance malfunction or debris impact.
