Methods of repairing and waterproofing articles
A relatively thick, rubberized adhesive tape is applied to an article to repair, patch, bond, seal, or waterproof the article, to join two or more articles, and/or to modify the appearance and/or physical properties of the article, such as by thermal insulation, shock resistance, vibration resistance, electrical insulation, and the like.
Folding Propeller for a Water Vehicle
The present disclosure relates to a folding propeller (10) for a water vehicle, comprising a hub (12) which is drivable about a rotation axis (D) via a drive shaft, and a propeller blade (14) which is arranged on the hub (12) to be pivotable about a pivot axis (S) between a maximum closed position (P1) and a maximum open position (P2), wherein the pivot axis (S) defines, together with a normal (N.sub.D) to the rotation axis (D) which intersects the pivot axis (S), a maximum opening plane (E.sub.Max), wherein in the driven state and a pivot position of the propeller blade (14) in the region of the maximum open position (P2), at least one opening force acts upon the propeller blade (14) which results from rotation of the folding propeller (10) and in relation to the rotation axis (D) is directed substantially radially outwardly, wherein an effective force application point (EAP) of the opening force is arranged spaced from the maximum opening plane (E.sub.Max) and is substantially arranged in the closing direction (SR) of the propeller blade (14). The present disclosure further relates to a folding propeller (10) comprising a propeller blade (14) which has a reversal element (143) which is configured such that during rearward drive a reversed thrust (F.sub.reverse) acts upon the reversal element (143) and is directed substantially perpendicularly to the propeller blade longitudinal axis (L.sub.P) in the opening direction (OR) of the propeller blade (14).
Using plastic to create a floating platform
Example implementations include a system and method of using plastic from bodies of water and creating a floating platform by collecting plastic from a body of water, cleaning the collected plastic, melting and compacting the plastic, molding a plurality of hexagonal blocks from the compacted plastic, stacking the plurality of hexagonal blocks, wherein a system of springs and an energy storage device is provided between each of the plurality of hexagonal blocks, and coating the stacked blocks with a non-toxic material. Through the use of various onboard functionalities, energy may be generated to regulate temperature and provide electricity, oxygen may be supplied, and water may be purified.
Independent structural member drain channels
An article of manufacture including molded-in notches in the peripheral edge of long, uninterrupted molded-in compartments in a rotational molded boat hull for permitting the flush fitting of certain independent structural members in said notches to provide both structural support and drainage of water away from seams between adjacent deck panels and hatches secured over the compartments without resorting to elaborate pre-fabricated decks. The article of manufacture includes a body, wherein the body is a plastic molded boat hull comprised of numerous molded-in cavities and molded-in features to create an interior layout that is comparable to a conventional boat built of aluminum or fiber reinforced plastic.
Trench and plate boat hull system
An article of manufacture involving a system of molded-in cavities and post-molded cover plates that solve a multitude of problems in applying rotational molding to the construction of plastic-hulled power boats. The article of manufacture includes a body, wherein the body is a plastic molded boat hull comprised of numerous molded-in cavities and molded-in features to create an interior layout that is comparable to a conventional boat built of aluminum or fiber reinforced plastic.
CURVED ORIGAMI-BASED METAMATERIALS FOR IN SITU STIFFNESS MANIPULATION
A curved origami-based metamaterial includes a panel of material having a plurality of curved creases each disposed within a plane of the panel. The panel is configured to be folded along one of the plurality of creases, and the panel is also configured to be bent about an axis disposed outside the plane of the panel. Stiffness manipulation is configured to be achieved in situ by activating a different one of the plurality of curved creases
COATINGS THAT REDUCE OR PREVENT BARNACLE ATTACHMENT TO A MARINE STRUCTURE
An apparatus includes a marine component or structure having a surface to be exposed to a marine environment during use. A photocatalyst coating is secured to the surface of the marine structure, wherein the photocatalyst coating includes titanium oxide. The marine component or structure is preferably selected from a boat hull, dock post, dock piling, pier, and buoy. A method may be provided for reducing or preventing barnacle attachment to a marine component or structure, including forming a transparent photocatalyst coating on an external surface of the marine structure, wherein the transparent photocatalyst coating includes a titanium oxide, and placing the marine component or structure in service within a marine environment.
Seat enclosure
A seat enclosure includes a number of seats located at the perimeter of a vehicle to form a barrier. The seat includes a base with a panel attached to the backside of the base to give the seat enclosure a finished appearance.
Float aggregate
The present invention is aimed at providing a float aggregate which can be manufactured at low cost and has countermeasures against wind pressure suitable for use on water. According to the present invention, provided is a float aggregate formed by connecting a plurality of floats configured for mounting a solar panel thereon, wherein the solar panel is provided on at least one of the plurality of floats so as to be inclined with respect to a surface of the float and to face a rear side of the float aggregate, the plurality of floats includes a base end float located along an end portion of on a front side of the float aggregate, and the base end float is provided with a windbreak member inclined with respect to a surface of the base end float and to face the front side of the float aggregate.
