Automatic and instantaneous inflating device
A device is constituted by an inflatable neck float (1), with a U shape placed around the neck and closed by a safety closure (2) to allow perfect fitting around the neck, inside said neck float (1) there is a flexible tube (3) that carries a gas (11), introduced in liquid state and which, upon being released suddenly, will expand and inflate the lifesaving neck float.
FLOATATION DEVICE
A floatation device is provided. In some embodiments, a floatation device is provided, comprising an inflatable ring composed of a transparent material, wherein the inflatable ring includes: an outer air chamber having a first valve for inflating the outer air chamber; an inner air chamber having a second valve for inflating the inner air chamber, wherein the outer air chamber and the inner air chamber are not in communication; a cut through the outer air chamber and the inner air chamber of the inflatable ring that forms opposing ends of the inflatable ring; and a plurality of fasteners placed on a top surface and a bottom surface of the outer or inner air chamber for detachably connecting the opposing ends of the inflatable ring.
LIFE PRESERVER
A life preserver (1) including an inflatable main body portion (3) having an aperture (5) for a wearer's neck, and first and second inflatable lobes (7, 9) extending from the main body portion which are configured to respectively occupy a position on the left and right hand side of the wearer's body when in use. The main body portion may be formed by corresponding front and rear layers of material that are connected around their outer peripheries and which each have an aperture for the wearer's neck, wherein the main body portion further comprises an additional layer of material that is connected to the front and rear layers of material around the apertures in the front and rear layers to form a surface that, upon inflation of the main body portion, encircles the wearer's neck. A panel (15) of material mounted on a front surface of the main body portion adjacent to, or partially overlying, the neck aperture may protect the wearer's airways from water splashes.
FLOTATION VEST WITH REPOSITIONABLE COLLAR MEMBER
A buoyant vest having a body portion that is securable around the upper torso of the wearer. The body member has a front portion and a back portion affixed together to form a neck opening and a shoulder portion one each side of the neck opening A buoyant collar member may be removably attached to the shoulder portions and may be selectively positioned at the front portion of the vest to support the wearer's chin, or at the back portion of the vest to provide support to the user's neck, when the user is in water.
BUOYANCY-BASED CERVICAL TRACTION SYSTEM
A buoyancy-based cervical traction system has a floatation and a head rest supported by the flotation system. The head rest is adapted to support a person's head above the neck and apply traction to the neck when the person is in a body of liquid. The system has a position adjustment system adapted to allow selective adjustment of the position at which the person's head rest will be relative to an upper surface of the liquid when the person and the cervical traction system are in the liquid, the person's head is supported by the head rest, and the cervical traction system and person are floating in the liquid at equilibrium.
EMERGENCY FLOTATION DEVICE USING COMPRESSED GAS
A flotation device for providing emergency flotation for a person swimming or passing through a body of water, comprising a container filled with a charge of a gaseous material under a pressure such that it is in its liquid phase at normal environmental temperatures. The container is connected to a flexible flotation chamber through a passage which remains normally closed until actuated by the user. When the device is actuated by opening the passage, the charge expands into the flotation chamber, thereby inflating it, and providing support to the user in the water. The gaseous material has thermodynamic properties such that it remains in its liquid phase right up to the maximum temperatures to which the device is expected to be exposed to. Consequently, its volume, and hence the internal pressure within the gas container, does not increase significantly, thereby enabling the container to be of lightweight construction.
Inflatable flotation device
An inflatable flotation device including two panels extending from a body an inflatable bladder. The two panels and the body may be closed to enclose the inflatable bladder with the two panels attached to each other using magnets. When the inflatable bladder is inflated, the magnets separate from each other and the two panels open up to expose the inflatable bladder and allow further inflation.
