Lift bag with automatic gas volume regulation
11572141 · 2023-02-07 ·

A lift bag for moving an object underwater includes a lift bag body and a buoyancy regulator device within an internal cavity of the lift bag body. The buoyancy regulator device includes concentric regulator tubes. Each regulator tube includes a regulator tube opening and the regulator tube openings may be aligned to define a regulator tube aperture. The regulator tube aperture is in fluid communication with a lift bag slot formed in the lift bag body. A constant buoyancy for the lift bag is determined by adjusting the position of the regulator tube aperture by moving the inner and outer regulator tubes with respect to each other.

An anchor rescue system includes an improved slider assembly 200 and retriever assembly 300 allowing for secure attachment as the retriever assembly is lowered upon an anchor line to attach to the slider assembly. Once attached, the retriever assembly pulls upon the slider assembly with the slider assembly attached to a tether chain 210 with the tether chain attached to a lower portion of the anchor, such as crown, causing the anchor to move upwardly in a relative horizontal position. The system frees trapped anchors without need for floatation devices.

Compact torpedo recovery system

A torpedo recovery system is provided with a hull and a float conformable on a host vehicle and lifting wire coiled on a spool attached by an extension spring as well as with an anchor to the float. An oval hole penetrates the recovery system hull at positions lined with a watertight sleeve. The spool can accommodate a locking pin. The extension spring allows compliance for take-up of the spool by having the locking pin mate with an aperture and adds a wire pre-tension. Upon vehicle shutdown; the locking pin is retracted to free the spool from a rotational constraint. The float buoyancy translates into pulling the wire from the spool with the float and extension spring continuing to the water surface. Once the float reaches the surface; the float provides a visual location for the host vehicle. The float is retrieved and a winch can recover the lightweight torpedo.
