Aircraft nacelles having adjustable chines

Aircraft nacelles having adjustable chines are described. An example apparatus includes a chine coupled to a nacelle. The chine is oriented along a fore-aft direction. The chine is rotatable relative to the nacelle about an axis of rotation. The axis of rotation is substantially perpendicular to a plane of the chine defined by an outer mold line of the chine.

NACELLE AND METHOD FOR INFLUENCING FLUID FLOWS IN A NACELLE
20180010518 · 2018-01-11 ·

The invention relates to an engine nacelle, including: a nacelle wall that has an inner side and an outer side; an inlet lip that is embodied at that end of the engine nacelle that is formed upstream; and an engine intake that takes in the air required for the respective engine and that is formed by the inner side of the nacelle wall. It is provided that the nacelle wall includes an air-permeable structure that extends from the outer side to the inner side of the nacelle wall, and that is configured for passing air that flows against the outer side from the outer side to the inner side. The invention further relates to a method for influencing the flows inside an engine nacelle.

ASSEMBLY HAVING A STRUCTURE AND A RESERVOIR FASTENED TO THE STRUCTURE AND CONTAINING AN EXTINGUISHING FLUID

An assembly having a chassis, two supports with a plate and a guide, a nesting system with a bore, a reservoir containing an extinguishing fluid and with two fastening tabs, two bearing tabs and a peg, and a fastener. The reservoir is able to move in translation between a premounting position in which each fastening and bearing tab rests on a plate and each guide guides the fastening and bearing tabs to align the peg and the bore, and a mounting position in which each fastening tab rests on the plate, the peg is introduced into the bore, the bearing tabs no longer rest on the plates and the fastener fastens each fastening tab to the plate. Such an assembly allows the reservoir to be withdrawn and put in place quickly and easily.

ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS FOR FORMING FIBER-REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC STRUCTURES WITH LIGHTNING STRIKE PROTECTION

A method for forming a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic part may comprise the steps of locating a lightning strike protection layer on a mold surface of a mold tool, locating a thermoplastic layer over the mold tool, heating the thermoplastic layer to a pliable forming temperature, conforming the thermoplastic layer to a mold surface of the mold tool, and depositing a plurality of fiber strips over the thermoplastic layer.

Thermal management of tail cone mounted generator
