AUTONOMOUS LIGHT SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR OPERATING AUTONOMOUS LIGHT SYSTEMS

An autonomous light system may comprise a reading light assembly, an object detection device; and a controller. The reading light assembly may include a light source and an actuation system. The controller may be operably coupled to the light source and the object detection device. The controller may include an object detection module and may be configured to receive object data from the object detection device, compare the object data against an object database, identify an object based on the comparison of the object data to the object database, send a first command to at least one of the light source and the actuation system.

Universal passenger service unit

A personal service unit (PSU) includes a housing, a dial, and a flow control ring. The dial is rotatable about the housing. The housing includes a longitudinal axis therethrough and a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The dial includes a helical first portion along an interior wall of the dial. The flow control ring includes a helical second portion along an exterior wall of the flow control ring. The helical second portion rotatably mates with the helical first portion and rotation of the dial in a first direction moves the flow control ring in a first direction along the longitudinal axis to cause a first adjustment in airflow past the flow control ring and rotation of the flow control ring in an opposite direction moves the flow control ring in an opposite direction to cause a second adjustment in airflow past the flow control ring.

ILLUMINATED SEAT PANEL

A seat panel for assembly into a rear surface of a seat assembly includes a light assembly which generates task lighting directed to a task area and of sufficient brightness to be useful in performing a task within the task area. The light assembly is selectively actuable to emit light through an aperture defined by the seat panel in a defined light pattern to illuminate a recessed space in the seat panel. The seat assembly when configured as a forward seat assembly of a vehicle provides task lighting for a passenger seated rearward of the forward seat assembly, to illuminate a task area which can include one or more of the exterior surface of the seat panel, a leg space between the forward seat assembly and the passenger's seat assembly, and/or a seat space generally including a portion of the upper leg and/or lap area of the passenger.

EMERGENCY OXYGEN SYSTEMS FOR INTERNAL CABINS OF AIRCRAFT

A vehicle includes an internal cabin. A plurality of passenger service units (PSUs) are within the internal cabin. An emergency oxygen system is within the internal cabin. The emergency oxygen system is separate and distinct from the plurality of PSUs. A method includes providing a plurality of passenger service units (PSUs) within an internal cabin of a vehicle, and providing an emergency oxygen system within the internal cabin, wherein the emergency oxygen system is separate and distinct from the plurality of PSUs.

GESTURE-BASED SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AIRCRAFT CABIN LIGHT CONTROL

A method of touchless activation of an electrically activated device may comprise: receiving, via a processor and through a sensor in an aircraft cabin, gesture data; comparing, via the processor, the gesture data to a predetermined gesture, the predetermined gesture being created by transitioning a hand from a first position to a second position, one of the first position and the second position being a closed fist, a remainder of the first position and the second position being an open palm; determining, via the processor, whether the gesture data matches the predetermined gesture; and commanding, via the processor, the electrically activated device to change from a first state to a second state.

Illuminated aircraft passenger cabin gasper

An illuminated aircraft passenger cabin gasper comprises an air outlet for outputting a flow of air into an aircraft passenger cabin and an air guide, movably arranged within the air outlet for adjusting the flow of air that includes a light guide. The gasper also includes at least one light source, arranged adjacent to the light guide for coupling light into the light guide. The light guide has a light output surface for coupling light out of the light guide into the aircraft passenger cabin.

LIGHT CONVERSION SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND DEVICES

A light assembly may comprise: a light array comprising a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs), each light emitting diode (LED) configured to emit an electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength, the wavelength of each LED being different, a first LED in the light array configured to emit a first wavelength between 414 nm and 474 nm; and a non-linear optical layer disposed adjacent to the first LED, the nonlinear optical layer configured to output the first wavelength and a second wavelength, the second wavelength being between 207 nm and 237 nm.

A light system may comprise: a seat back housing configured to be coupled to a seat in an aircraft; a light assembly coupled to the seat back housing, the light assembly comprising: a main body at least partially disposed in the seatback housing in response to the light assembly being in a stowed state, the main body coupled to a joint and configured to move relative to the joint, and a light coupled to the main body.

AIRCRAFT CABIN SYSTEM CONTROL BY GESTURES WITHIN TASK ENVELOPES
20220363393 · 2022-11-17 · ·

A control system for an aircraft cabin includes a first sensor, a second sensor, and a processor. The first and second sensors are configured to detect communicative gestures of a subject and are oriented to detect the communicative gestures in first and second cabin volumes, respectively. The second cabin volume at least partially overlaps the first cabin volume. The processor is configured to: identify a control volume defined by an overlap between the first and second cabin volumes; define a task envelope as a sub-set of the control volume in which the subject may perform the communicative gestures; disregard communicative gestures outside of the task envelope; compare an identified gesture of the communicative gestures performed inside the task envelope with a plurality of stored gestures; and generate a control task to command cabin devices in response to a match between the identified gesture one of the stored gestures.
