Vapor leak pressure relief and diversion system
A cooling system includes a first cooling loop, a second cooling loop and a heat exchanger configured to transfer heat from the first cooling loop to the second cooling loop. The first cooling loop includes a flow restrictor, an inertial separator, and a pressure relief valve cooperating to effect diversion of vapor present in the first cooling loop due to a leak between the first cooling loop and the second cooling loop.
Vapor cycle machine management system
A method, apparatus, system, and computer program product for managing a vapor cycle machine. Data is received for the vapor cycle machine in an aircraft. The data comprises a pressure, a temperature, and a speed for a set of compressors in the vapor cycle machine. A ratio of the pressure to the temperature is determined for the set of compressors that ran during a flight of the aircraft. A set of actions is performed when the ratio of the pressure to the temperature for the set of compressors that ran during the flight of the aircraft exceeds a threshold more than a selected number of times over a range of flights for the aircraft.
Thermal management system
A thermal management system adapted to vent a two-phase working fluid into an environment having a higher pressure than a vapor pressure of a working fluid corresponding to a set point of the system including a secondary vessel containing a secondary species. The system includes a primary vessel containing the working fluid and the secondary species, and at least one valve to selectively control venting of a mixture of the working fluid and the secondary species from the primary vessel to the environment. The system includes at least one valve connected between the primary vessel and the secondary vessel to selectively control charging of the secondary species into the primary vessel.

Aircraft air conditioning system with a cabin exhaust air turbine
An aircraft air conditioning system comprising an ambient air line, for ambient air to flow through, connected to supply ambient air to a mixer of the aircraft air conditioning system. An ambient air compressor is arranged in the ambient air line for compressing the ambient air flowing there through. A refrigerating apparatus comprises a refrigerant circuit for a refrigerant to flow through, including a refrigerant compressor arranged in the refrigerant circuit. The refrigerant circuit is coupled thermally to the ambient air line to transfer heat from the ambient air to the refrigerant before the ambient air is supplied to the mixer. A cabin exhaust air turbine is connected to a cabin exhaust air line, is coupled to the ambient air compressor arranged in the ambient air line, and is configured to expand the cabin exhaust air flowing through the cabin exhaust air line and to drive the ambient air compressor.

The process generates a set of alerts based on the data for the supplemental cooling unit and a signature in the data.
Divided refrigeration system for aircraft galley cooling
A divided aircraft galley refrigeration system is disclosed. In embodiments, the system includes an evaporating unit positioned within an aircraft galley. In another embodiment, the system includes a refrigeration and heat discharge unit positioned outside of the aircraft galley. In another embodiment, the system includes a liquid refrigerant pipe configured to fluidically couple the evaporating unit and the refrigeration and heat discharge unit. In another embodiment, the system includes a vapor refrigerant pipe configured to fluidically couple the evaporating unit and the refrigeration and heat discharge unit.
CRYOGENIC FUEL COOLED ECS PRECOOLER
Aircraft systems including a fuel tank containing a cryogenic fuel, an engine configured to consume the fuel, and an ECS having a precooler arranged to receive the fuel and air from the engine. The precooler includes a first heat exchanger configured to receive a first state of the fuel and output a second state of the fuel and a second heat exchanger configured to receive the second state fuel and output a third state fuel. The first state has a first density, the second state has a second density, and the third state has a third density, wherein the first density is greater than the second density, and the second density is greater than the third density. The engine air is directed through the second heat exchanger first and then through the first heat exchanger.
Battery thermal management system and method
The battery thermal management system includes a battery pack, a circulation subsystem, and a heat exchanger. The system can optionally include a cooling system, a reservoir, a de-ionization filter, a battery charger, and a controller.
CRYOGENIC COOLING SYSTEM FOR AN AIRCRAFT
An engine-driven cryogenic cooling system for an aircraft includes a first air cycle machine, a second air cycle machine, and a means for condensing a chilled air stream into liquid air for an aircraft use. The first air cycle machine includes a plurality of components operably coupled to a gearbox of a gas turbine engine and configured to produce a cooling air stream based on a first engine bleed source of the gas turbine engine. The second air cycle machine is operable to output the chilled air stream at a cryogenic temperature based on a second engine bleed source cooled by the cooling air stream of the first air cycle machine.
