WAYFINDING ASSISTANCE SYSTEM FOR VISUALLY-IMPAIRED PASSENGERS
Systems and methods provide technology for wayfinding assistance for visually-impaired passengers, including short-range transmitters distributed within a passenger cabin of an aircraft, a transit vehicle or a vessel, each short-range transmitter located proximate to a respective waypoint in the passenger cabin to transmit a signal identifying the respective waypoint in the passenger cabin, and a client application to, responsive to passing within a range of one of the plurality of short-range transmitters, receive a first transmission from the short-range transmitter and emit one or more of a first audible signal or a first haptic signal, based on the first transmission, as wayfinding assistance to a user of the client device. The technology can also include a mid-range transmitter located proximate to a service area in the passenger cabin, to transmit a signal providing at least one of a status of or a location of the service area.
Aircraft area having a textile display, aircraft passenger seat having a textile display, and aircraft including an aircraft area
An aircraft area having a textile display, aircraft passenger seat having a textile display, and aircraft including an aircraft area. An aircraft area includes an interior component, a textile display on the interior component and including at least one textile fiber capable of changing a color at at least one section of the textile fiber, and a controller operatively coupled to the textile display and configured to change color of the at least one section of the textile fiber, such that the textile display displays information. An aircraft passenger seat includes a back rest, seat pan, and textile display integrated into a seat cover covering the backrest and/or the seat pan. The textile display includes at least one textile fiber capable of changing a color at at least one section of the textile fiber. An aircraft may include one or more aircraft areas and/or one or more aircraft passenger seats.
Projection system for translucent displays and methods of operating thereof
A system is provided. The system includes a translucent display positioned such that a first face is a display face and that a second face is a projection face and at least one projector configured to project an image on the second face of the translucent display. The image is displayed on the first face. The system also includes at least one sensor configured to transmit a signal when triggered and a projector controller in communication with the at least one projector and the at least one sensor. The projector controller is programmed to receive a signal from the at least one sensor and instruct the at least one projector to project at least one image on the translucent display in response to the signal from the at least one sensor.
Compartment content notification and inspection device and method
A system and method for vehicle compartment item presence indication senses an item within a vehicle compartment and notifies a user if the item is expected or unexpected within the compartment based on a vehicle state. Should the item be expected in a compartment during a phase of flight where the compartment is expected to contain items, there is no abnormal indication. However, if a compartment is expected to be empty during a specific phase of flight and the sensors indicate an item is present, the system will alert the user to the unexpected item.
PERSONAL PROJECTION SYSTEM FOR TRAVEL ENVIRONMENTS AND METHODS OF OPERATING THEREOF
A passenger service unit is provided. The passenger service unit includes at least one projector configured to project an image onto one or more display surfaces, at least one sensor configured to indicate a current position of the one or more display surfaces, and a projector controller in communication with the at least one projector and the at least one sensor. The projector controller is programmed to receive a signal from the at least one sensor indicating a current position of a display surface and instruct the at least one projector to project at least one image onto the tray table based on the current position of the display surface.
NEAR-FIELD COMMUNICATION ENABLED LUGGAGE ITEM STOWAGE BINS
A processing system of a carrier transport vehicle including at least one processor may obtain a notification of a luggage item to be placed in a stowage bin of the carrier transport vehicle, the notification including an identifier of the luggage item, detect, via the identifier of the luggage item, that the luggage item is proximate to the stowage bin, where the identifier of the luggage item is obtained via a wireless signal from the luggage item, and present at least one visual indicator associated with the stowage bin, in response to the detecting that the luggage item is proximate to the stowage bin.
Structurally embedded lighting for display panels
An embedded light source in a composite panel. A first electrode and a second electrode are associated with a first layer of material. A light source is positioned in electrical communication with the first electrode and the second electrode. An assembly comprising the first layer of material, the first electrode, the second electrode, and the light source is processed to form a multilayer panel with an embedded light source.
Method and system for arming/disarming an aircraft door slide and implementation assembly
An assembly for arming/disarming a slide of an airplane door according to the invention comprises a system with two releasable connection mechanisms (2) linked with the door (1) and a cabin floor of the airplane, each mechanism (2) comprising a releasable connector (21b) secured to the door (1), extending at right angles to the floor on each side of a door bottom, and an anchor fitting (22b) fixed to the cabin floor. Each connector (21b) is equipped with an elastic centering element (70) and a locking/unlocking grab (25b) on the corresponding anchor fitting (22b), the connectors (21b) being linked by a girt bar (5). Each grab (25b) being rotationally mobile, one of the grabs (25b) is driven by a single command (5; 25b) which drives the other grab in rotation via the girt bar (5).
Method and Apparatus for Detecting Seatbelt Compliance in Commercial Passenger Aircraft
A seatbelt detection system detects seatbelt use in each seat of a passenger aircraft to produce safety-compliance data. A computer system, which is communicatively coupled to the seatbelt detection system, receives sensor data from a plurality of sensors in an aircraft cabin; and employ an artificial intelligence (AI) program to train on input data comprising at least one of safety compliance data, aircraft system data, cabin environment data, cabin operations data, or aircraft operations data; and the AI program is configured to minimize a summed error of predictions of seatbelt compliance.
Aircraft projection device
An aircraft projection device includes a projector that displays an image by projecting the image onto a floor surface of a passage in an interior of an aircraft; and a controller that controls the projector to display the image onto the floor surface of the passage in the interior of the aircraft.
