A system for positioning at least one satellite in working orbit, characterized in that the system for positioning satellites in working orbit comprises: a first attachment device configured to attach a first satellite to the system for positioning satellites in working orbit; a main propulsion device with solid propulsion comprising a plurality of parallel solid-propellant cartridges; a secondary propulsion device which is re-ignitable; at least one position sensor configured to measure the position of said system; a monitoring unit connected to said at least one position sensor and which is configured to control a firing of the cartridges of the main propulsion device to move said system from a transfer orbit to a working orbit of the first satellite, said monitoring unit being further configured to control an opening of the first attachment device to separate said system from the first satellite.

Liquid rocket engine tap-off power source

A liquid rocket engine integrates tap-off openings at a combustion chamber wall to direct exhaust from the combustion chamber to a tap-off manifold that provides the exhaust to one or more auxiliary systems, such as a turbopump that pumps oxygen and/or fuel into the combustion chamber. The tap-off opening passes through a fuel channel formed in that combustion chamber exterior wall and receives fuel through a fuel opening that interfaces the fuel channel and tap-off opening. The tap-off manifold nests within a fuel manifold for thermal management. The fuel channel directs fuel into the combustion chamber through fuel port openings formed in the combustion chamber, the fuel port openings located closer to a headend of the combustion chamber than the tap-off openings.

The extracted material or materials are configured to be re-purposed into a propellant. The plurality of heating elements surrounds or is embedded within the structure configured to convert the material into the propellant. The transport mechanism is configured to transport the propellant from the structure to a reservoir or to the propulsion system.

ThermaSat Solar Thermal Propulsion System

ThermaSat™ propulsion system uses water as a safe and non-explosive propellant, and which is unpressurized at liftoff. Utilizing solar thermal propulsion, the compact and efficient capacitor heats water to steam to produce high thrust and total impulse. The advanced optical system allows for the thermal capacitor to charge through solar power alone with no protruding concentrators or power draw from the main bus. Additional solar panels, body mounted to the ThermaSat, provide auxiliary heating of the thermal capacitor when not directly incident to sunlight to promote non-sun pointing operations.
