MULTICOPTER
A multicopter includes: a support; rotors supported by the support; an electrical equipment that supplies power for rotationally driving the rotors; a circuitly that controls a flight of an airframe by individually adjusting a rotor speed of each of the rotors; and a cooling unit that cools the electrical equipment. The cooling unit includes a heat exchanger, a refrigerant circulating through the heat exchanger and the electrical equipment, and a pump that circulates the refrigerant.
MULTICOPTER
A multicopter comprises: a support; rotors supported by the support; an internal combustion engine supported by the support; a generator supported by the support and driven by the internal combustion engine to generate power; electric motors supported by the support, supplied with electric power from the generators, and configured to drive the rotors; and a circuitry that control a flight of an aircraft by individually adjusting a rotational speed of each of the rotors. The multicopter also comprises a plurality of the internal combustion engines or a plurality of the generators.
MULTICOPTER AND METHOD FOR DRIVING SAME
A multicopter is provided with: a support; multiple rotors provided to the support; an engine which is provided to the support and capable of varying the output thereof; an electric generator which is supported by the support and generates electricity by being driven by the engine; a capacitor which is provided to the support; multiple motors which are provided to the support, which are configured to be capable of supplying electricity from the electric generator and the capacitor, and which drive the multiple rotors respectively; a flight controller which controls the attitude of the multicopter main body by adjusting the revolving speeds of the respective rotors; and a power plant controller which controls the electric power to be generated by controlling both the engine and the electric generator in accordance with a control instruction given by the flight controller.
HYBRID EVTOL POWER SYSTEM
A reliable and redundant hybrid VTOL UAV power architecture includes two or more channels of high voltage AC power generated from at least one generator, the generator coupled to one or more liquid fueled turbine engines. Two or more high voltage domain modules, one for each channel, receive the high voltage AC power and, using a rectifier change it to high voltage DC power. A power distribution unit accepts the newly converted channel of high voltage DC power and thereafter bidirectionally provides it to a domain battery and to a primary set of motors. Two or more high voltage busses, each coupled separately to one of the two or more high voltage domain modules, each redundantly transport converted channel of high voltage DC power to, in one embodiment, primary sets of motors forming a primary high power domain bus for these select motors.
UAV configurations and battery augmentation for UAV internal combustion engines, and associated systems and methods
UAV configurations and battery augmentation for UAV internal combustion engines, and associated systems and methods are disclosed. A representative configuration includes a fuselage, first and second wings coupled to and pivotable relative to the fuselage, and a plurality of lift rotors carried by the fuselage. A representative battery augmentation arrangement includes a DC-powered motor, an electronic speed controller, and a genset subsystem coupled to the electronic speed controller. The genset subsystem can include a battery set, an alternator, and a motor-gen controller having a phase control circuit configurable to rectify multiphase AC output from the alternator to produce rectified DC feed to the DC-powered motor. The motor-gen controller is configurable to draw DC power from the battery set to produce the rectified DC feed.
HYBRID ELECTRIC DRIVE SYSTEMS FOR UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS
A hybrid powerplant can include a main power bus; an engine; a generator coupled to the engine, the generator in electrical communication with the main power bus; an energy storage; an electrical switch disposed electrically between the main power bus and the energy storage; and a controller in electrical communication with the electrical switch.
ENERGY SUPPLY SYSTEM
An energy supply system, which is a system constituting a regional power system in a target region, includes a power transmission system including a first power generation facility and a second power generation facility, a power transmission and distribution system that supplies power to each consumer, a management system, and an unmanned flying object. The unmanned flying object has a transport function of transporting a cargo and a power supply function of supplying power to an outside. When the amount of power supplied by the power transmission system is less than the amount of power required by the power transmission and distribution system, the management system performs a power adjustment process of supplying power from the unmanned flying object to the power transmission and distribution system by using the power supply function of the unmanned flying object.
