A seasoning bag for seasoning a foodstuff that includes an edible adhesive adhered to an interior of the seasoning bag and a seasoning adhered to the interior of the seasoning bag via the edible adhesive. The seasoning bag may be used in connection the preparation and/or cooking of foodstuffs. The bag may be used to season, marinade, and store a foodstuff. The bag may also be a cook-in bag, suitable for roasting, microwaving, slow cooking, and/or boiling.

Several embodiments include a cooking instrument. The cooking instrument can select a food cooking recipe and identify relative areas in a cooking chamber to place at least two portions of food. The relative areas would match the food cooking recipe. The cooking instrument can display information associated with an instruction to place the at least two portions of food over the relative areas. The cooking instrument can then determine a heating sequence in accordance with the food cooking recipe and control, based on the heating sequence, a heating system to directionally transfer heat under different heating characteristics respectively to the at least two portions of the food at the identified relative areas in the cooking chamber.

A cooking bag enclosing a food item to be cooked therein is disclosed. The cooking bag may include a foil pouch having a foil pouch interior surface defining a food pocket therein for receiving and storing the food item and isolating the food item from an ambient atmosphere surrounding the foil pouch. A removable printed film sheet may be affixed to a foil pouch exterior surface by a releasable adhesive. The removable printed film sheet may be separable from the foil pouch exterior surface by peeling the releasable adhesive without breaking the foil pouch and exposing the food pocket and the food item to the ambient atmosphere. The food item may then be cooked in the foil pouch on a grill, in an oven, on a stove or with another appropriate heat source.

A formed tray for baking and transporting a food product is provided herein. In some embodiments, the formed tray includes two cavities surrounded by a peripheral flange. In addition, the formed tray also may include a rigid bridge extending between the cavities and recessed below the peripheral flange. The peripheral flange of the formed tray may include beveled corners and two concave sections. A pre-cooked food product may be disposed in the cavities and sealed within the formed tray by a flexible film. Also provided herein is a process for baking and sealing a food product within the formed tray to provide a pre-cooked packaged food product that may be stored and transported.
