An apparatus for realising a biodegradable packaging of a product for preparation of beverages includes a first feeder group and a second feeder group. The first feeder group is of a first film made of a biodegradable material, in particular a film of polylactic acid (PLA), and a first rotary carousel, configured, together with a series of work stations associated to the first carousel, to realise a pod made of PLA, containing internally thereof a product for preparation of a beverage. The second feeder group is of a second film made of a biodegradable material, in particular a film of Ecoralene, and a second rotary carousel, configured, together with a series of work stations associated to the second carousel, to realise an Ecoralene cladding of the pod to obtain a biodegradable packaging of a product for preparation of a beverage.

Infuser implement and method of manufacture
11523702 · 2022-12-13 ·

A disposable infusing implement for preparing infused beverages, and method of manufacturing the implement. The implement has on its distal end a separately releasable, permeable textile container which holds an apportioned measure of infusible, dried solids such as tea or coffee. The proximal end of the member serves as a handle for directing the distal end into a vessel of liquid, where it can be agitated to aid in steeping tea or ground coffee. After steeping/infusion, the permeable textile container portion may be disposed of and the handle used again. The textile container's permeable cup part is heated and pressed in a die. Infusible, granulated, dried solids such as coffee or tea are apportioned to fill the permeable chamber, and then a lid and flange are pressed atop to fixedly adhere to the permeable textile container, allowing the implement to be packed, formed and sealed from one side.

Beverage Brewing Material Support
20220369849 · 2022-11-24 ·

A method of manufacturing a support element for beverage brewing material includes providing water-permeable material to form a concave holder configured to receive the material, with a rim formed around an upper periphery. The method can include providing the material with fold lines, forming the holder from a single piece of the material, and shaping the holder into an open state. Preparing a beverage includes unfolding the support element to form a receptacle, adding the brewing material to an interior, and providing a flow of fluid through the material. An empty container includes filter material formable as a receptacle having has a bottom and sidewalls with folds defining an interior, and a rim at a top edge. The receptacle has a circular cross-section and a diameter of between about 30 mm and about 50 mm and/or a depth of between about 1 mm and about 15 mm.

METHOD AND PACKAGING MACHINE FOR MANUFACTURING A COMPOSTABLE POD FOR BREWING PRODUCTS
20230133474 · 2023-05-04 ·

A method for manufacturing a compostable pod for brewing products involves arranging a first (2) and a second sheet (3) made of biodegradable material with gas barrier properties; shaping the sheets (2, 3) so as to make at least one first concave portion (2a) on the first sheet (2) and at least one second concave portion (3a) on the second sheet (3) delimited by respective peripheral annular portions (2a′, 3a′), folding the sheets (2, 3) at the peripheral annular portions (2a′, 3a′) so as to define respective stiffening annular portions (2b, 3b) of the sheets (2, 3), filling the first concave portion (2a) with a predetermined quantity (4) of a brewing product, and coupling the sheets (2, 3) at the peripheral annular portions (2a, 3a) so that the respective concavities of the concave portions (2a, 3a) are opposite each other and define a housing volume of said brewing product.

A non-woven fabric comprising bicomponent fibers. The non-woven fabric has a core containing polylactic acid (PLA-1), coated with an envelope containing polylactic acid (PLA-2). The fibers are characterised in that PLA-1 is a copolymer of lactic acid monomers L1 and lactic acid monomers D1, and PLA-2 is a copolymer of lactic acid monomers L2 and lactic acid D2, whose D2 monomers rate is greater than the monomers rate D1 of PLA-1. The core further contains a polymeric plasticizer. The non-woven fabric may be used for making coffee filters and/or capsules via a thermoforming process for use in a percolating apparatus.
