PACKAGING APPARATUS AND PROCESS
A process of packaging includes providing a bottom support, providing a top film, and forming a closed chamber where a portion of the bottom support, a product and a portion of the top film are housed. The further includes sealing the portion of the bottom support to the portion of the top film along a sealing band circumscribing the product to sealingly house the product in a volume and forming one or more hollow structures by sealing a part of the portion of the top film to a part of the portion of the bottom support at one or more selected seal zones. Before forming the hollow structure, the part of the portion of the top film and of the portion of the bottom support destined to form the hollow structure are maintained separate at a distance the one from the other.
Filling level-independent gassing
A method for operating a sealing station of a packaging machine, wherein the method may include one or more of the following steps: filling a packing volume of a package with a gas to create a desired atmosphere to a preset gassing target pressure for a finished package, wherein the packaging volume may be defined by a lower and an upper packaging material; discharging a partial amount of the gas introduced into the packaging volume from the packaging volume into a collection volume while retaining the packaging volume generated by the preceding filling, which reduces the pressure within the packaging volume; and reducing the packaging volume by moving the upper packaging material to an end position that corresponds to a desired appearance such that the pressure inside the package increases again to near the gassing target pressure. A sealing station that performs this method is also described.
SEALING STATION WITH A PRODUCT PROTECTION PLATE
The disclosure relates to a sealing station with a product protection plate fastened thereto, wherein a fastening mechanism used for fastening the product protection plate comprises a magnetic locking unit, a hook-in locking unit or a gravity locking unit.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLED CONTAINER HEADSPACE ADJUSTMENT
In some embodiments, a sealing and pressure dosing apparatus may be provided. The sealing and pressure dosing apparatus may include a sealing machine having one or more of a driven turret, a sealing head, a pressure sealing member, and a pressure sealing chamber. The sealing and pressure dosing apparatus may also include a pressure dosing system which may be integrated with the sealing machine.
HEADSPACE MODIFICATION METHOD FOR REMOVAL OF VACUUM PRESSURE AND APPARATUS THEREFOR
To modify the headspace in a container to remove vacuum pressure, a container has a seal or cap which may provide a temporary opening into the container which is sealable under compression to provide a controlled raising of the internal pressure as the heated contents of the container cools. A sealing chamber (84) may enable the introduction of a fluid into the headspace (23b) to force the fluid level (40) lower. Other methods and apparatus are described.
System and method for pressurizing a plastic container
A system for manufacturing a filled plastic container includes an actuator, a base unit including a heating surface, and a dispensing device or nozzle. The actuator includes a body portion and a holding/securing member configured to hold or secure a portion of the container. In embodiments, the actuator is configured to apply a force or pressure on the container to contact the base unit, the base unit is configured to receive a base portion of the container, the heating surface is configured to convey energy or heat to a portion of the base portion of the container, and the dispensing device or nozzle is configured to introduce an inert gas into the container. Methods for providing a filled plastic container and providing a thin-walled plastic container are also disclosed.
Composite reinforcement systems and methods of manufacturing the same
Systems and methods for reinforcing physical structures with composite reinforcement systems are disclosed herein. According to aspects of the present disclosure, a composite reinforcement system includes a carrier formed of a plurality of fibers and a blend of at least two reagents impregnated within the carrier. The at least two reagents are chemically configured to react to form a moisture-curable prepolymer. One reagent of the at least two reagents is an isocyanate, and another reagent of the at least two reagents is an aromatic-group-containing polyol.
HEADSPACE MODIFICATION METHOD FOR REMOVAL OF VACUUM PRESSURE AND APPARATUS THEREFOR
Systems and methods for filling containers with heated fluids are described. In some embodiments, a method may include one or more of introducing a fluid through an open end of the container, providing a seal or cap to close and seal the filled container, cooling the heated fluid to create a first internal vacuum pressure, providing a pressurizing chamber, providing or creating an opening through the seal or cap, providing at least one fluid through the opening or aperture, and sealing the opening or aperture under a second internal pressure higher than the first internal vacuum pressure.
Method and apparatus for producing beverage containers with recooling and gas feed
Disclosed is a method for producing liquid containers by: producing a plastic container by a blow moulding process; filling the plastic container with a flowable medium, such as a liquid; and at least partially closing the container, which is filled with the liquid, with a container closure. After the at least partial closing of the container, a gaseous medium is fed to the interior of the container via at least one opening introduced into at least one portion of a wall of the plastic container or a circumferential wall of the container closure or via an intermediate space which exists between a mouth and the container closure.
