SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ACCURATE DETECTION OF FEBRILE CONDITIONS WITH VARYING BASELINE TEMPERATURES
The present invention is directed to systems and process for detecting a febrile condition in screening of multiple or large groups of persons for the likelihood of infectious diseases. The system comprises a temperature measurement device having at least a processor, a display, temperature sensor, camera module, and facial recognition software. The display may include a positional overlay. The system further includes a database containing baseline temperatures for a number of persons, including baseline temperatures by age group and by gender. An input device optionally may identify the specific person or provide survey questions to a person to further determine a febrile condition. Based on the baseline temperatures, measured temperature and other characteristics of the person, a febrile condition may be determined. Additionally, the system may include a secondary screening component providing nasal swabbing or saliva testing.
Hybrid hand labeler
A portable hybrid hand labeler is disclosed that relies on mechanical motion, which eliminates the need for motors and the corresponding energy required to run the motors. The portable hybrid hand labeler also houses an ink jet head and a digital print mechanism, which offers the user infinite print flexibility via downloadable print bands. The portable hybrid hand labeler is preferably battery driven, and comprises a unique drive system and mechanism to harvest the kinetic energy from the trigger pull and a display panel with a solar panel to collect solar energy to trickle charge the battery pack, thereby increasing usage time between charges.
TECHNIQUE FOR MARKING A PROLATE OBJECT
A device for providing a marking arranged or arrangeable in a circumferentially closed manner around a prolate object includes: a material interface for receiving a printed product output from a printer; a print signal interface for acquiring a control signal related to the printed product output; at least one sensor for acquiring a control signal related to providing of the marking; and at least one actuator for arranging the marking on the object in a circumferentially closed manner or to provide the marking for circumferentially closed arrangement depending on the control signal related to the printed product output and the control signal related to the providing of the marking using the printed product output by the printer.

Indicator Assembly for Media Processing Devices
A printer includes: a body defining a media enclosure configured to receive a media supply; an indicator assembly supported by an outer wall of the body, the indicator assembly including a plurality of substantially contiguous illumination surfaces illuminated by respective ones of a set of lights supported within the body; a controller supported by the body, the controller configured to: (i) obtain an operational status of the printer, (ii) retrieve, from a mapping repository, a set of notification control parameters corresponding to the operational status, and (iii) control the set of lights according to the notification control parameters.
LIGHTWEIGHT HAND-HELD LABEL APPLICATOR
A lightweight hand-held label applicator includes a plate, a guide channel, a flexible wiping lip, and a strip container. The plate has a supplying surface and a sliding surface, and the strip is supplied along the supplying surface toward an edge of the plate. The plate is constructed to allow easy grip by a user's fingers on the supplying surface and the sliding surface such that the strip is in contact with the sliding surface and pulled away from the edge of the plate by the user's finger. Preferably, the user's thumb holds the supplying surface or the guide channel, and the user's index or middle finger holds the sliding surface and pulls the strip away from the edge of the plate.
Grit roller feeder rollers for sticky media
A system and method for advancing sticky media through printers includes one or more feed rollers comprised of a grit roller. The grit roller contacts an adhesive side of liner-less label stock removed from a roll or stack for printing. The grit roller works cooperatively with an opposing, counter-rotating roller to remove the label stock from the roll and feed it to a printer.
Tape and tape cassette
A tape having a strip shape extending in a lengthwise direction and a widthwise direction includes: a subject surface located on the tape and exposed in a thickness direction; a first marker provided on the subject surface and being greater than the subject surface in reflectivity to light with a particular wavelength; and a second marker provided on the subject surface and being less than the subject surface in the reflectivity. At least a portion of the first marker and at least a portion of the second marker are identical to each other in position in the widthwise direction. At least a portion of one of the first marker and the second marker and at least a portion of another of the first marker and the second marker are different from each other in position in the lengthwise direction.
