LABELING MACHINE
A labeling machine, which includes a conveyor of containers to be labeled along an advancement path and at least one labeling unit arranged along the advancement path and provided with a respective transfer drum that can move in rotation about its own axis, with respect to a supporting base, and which is adapted to receive, in adhesion to its lateral surface, from a feeder unit, labels to be applied to the containers, at a feeding station, and to transfer the labels received at the feeding station to respective containers that arrive from the conveyor at a transfer station which is angularly spaced apart from the feeding station about the axis of the transfer drum; at least one portion of a sector of the lateral surface of the transfer drum is rotatably movable, with respect to the remaining part of the transfer drum.
Vacuum drum for a labeling unit, and labeling unit having a vacuum drum of this type
A vacuum drum for container labeling includes vacuum holders for holding a label. Each holder has a bistable rotational switch that switches between operating positions as a result of its switch actuator interacting with stationary switches during the drum's rotation. In one operating position, a label receives glue from a glue station. In the other, the holders avoid engagement with the glue station.
Labelling machine and method for applying labels
The present invention relates to a labelling machine (1) for applying labels (2) to receptacles (3) comprising a web (11) having a succession of decorative patterns (15); a cutting unit (12) configured to cut said web (11) so as to obtain individual labels (2); a conveying means (14) configured to advance the individual labels (2); a control unit (17) configured to control a positioning of the web (11) in relation to a reference station (18); a determination device (19) configured to determine and/or detect a relative positioning of the decorative patterns (15) in relation to the reference station (18); and a removal device (20) configured to remove incorrect labels (2) that are determined and/or detected as a function of the relative positioning of the decorative patterns (15) in relation to the reference station (18). Also included is a method for applying labels (2).
Cutting unit for a labeling device, and labeling device having such a cutting unit
A cutting unit comprising a cutting drum, a drum knife, a counterpart knife, and a double-joint controller that controls swiveling about a first joint, which swivels the counterpart knife between a cutting position and a waiting position, and swiveling about a second joint, which permits adjustment of a knife gap that forms between the counterpart knife and the drum knife in the cutting position. The drum knife is disposed on a circumference of the drum such that rotation of the drum guides the drum knife past the counterpart knife to cut a label when the counterpart knife is in the cutting position. In the waiting position, the counterpart knife is out of active engagement with the drum knife. The second joint permits adjustment of the knife gap such that the knife gap remains adjusted independently of swiveling about the first joint.
Vacuum drum for a labeling unit, labeling unit having such a vacuum drum, and method for producing a vacuum drum
A vacuum drum for a labelling unit of a labelling machine has the segments arranged next to each other to collectively form a circumferential surface of the vacuum drum. A typical segment has vacuum-holders that holds ends of the label. The holders are offset along the drum's circumferential surface. The segment also has a carrier plate and a label arc between the first and second vacuum holders. The first vacuum-holder comprises a first housing and the second vacuum holder comprises a second housing. At least one of the carrier plate, the housings, and the label arc is formed by additive manufacturing.
LABELLING GROUP AND METHOD FOR APPLYING A PLURALITY OF LABELS ONTO RESPECTIVE ARTICLES
There is disclosed a labelling group for advancing a series of labels to be applied onto relative articles. In one implementation, the labelling group may include a first drum adapted to convey a strip of labels along a first path and towards a transfer station; a cutting mechanism adapted to cut a sequence of single labels from the strip; a second drum fed by first drum with cut single labels at the transfer station and adapted to convey simultaneously a required number of cut single labels along a second path. The first drum may move at a first tangential speed at the transfer station, and the second drum may move at a second tangential speed at the transfer station, where the first tangential speed is different from the second tangential speed and is adjusted on the basis of required number of cut labels to be simultaneously conveyed on second drum.
Vacuum drum for a labeling unit, and labeling unit comprising a vacuum drum of this type
A labeling apparatus includes a rotating vacuum drum and a pair of vacuum holders on the drum that are switched by rotating switches between a working position for gluing labels and a rest position in which the vacuum holders avoid an application of glue. Actuators cause the switches to transition between operating positions. Stationary switch controllers initiate transitions between the operating positions of the switch, thereby causing the holders to transition between their two positions.
High speed label applicator systems and methods
A label application system for applying paper non-pressure adhesive labels to relatively short, round, straight-walled articles is constructed and designed so that labels to be applied to passing articles are delivered to the label application zone on a vacuum conveyor in a short feed orientation, with each label being oriented lengthwise across a width of the vacuum conveyor. At the time of labeling, the label is held stationary on a flat vacuum surface, and the label is applied by spinning the articles past the vacuum surface. As a result, the system is capable of labeling articles at processing speeds of up to or exceeding 800 articles per minute.
Labelling unit, device and method for labelling containers
A labeling unit for applying labels to containers includes a label removing device, a vacuum drum, and a gluing device. The vacuum drum receives labels at a first transfer position and delivers them to a second transfer position. The gluing device is arranged within an angular region of rotary motion of the vacuum drum between the first and second transfer positions. The vacuum drum moves labels past the gluing device. The label removal device removes either labels or label residues that remain on the vacuum drum in the angular region.
