The device (1) is made of a material selected between ethylene vinyl acetate and paperboard.

An apparatus, system and method to protect an object with a sleeve has a seam extending along the sleeve wherein the sleeve folds to attach along the seam. The sleeve is inserted on an object, such as a food container or a beverage container, to surround the container. A lattice is formed by expansion of slits extending along the sleeve inserted on the container. The depth of the lattice cushions the container from breakage. A bottom extends from the sleeve to surround the container. The sleeve may be placed in a partitioned section of a crate or box and/or may be incorporated in a bag to receive and/or protect the object.

The present application describes a sleeve for retaining a container. The sleeve comprising: a front element, a rear element, and a plurality of side elements. The front element comprises a substantially inelastic material forming a pouch. The front element further comprises a top edge and an exterior surface. The top edge defines a front aperture, and the front element further comprises an elastic collar attached to the top edge. The rear element comprises a substantially inelastic material forming a closeable space. The rear element further comprises a zipper and an exterior surface. The zipper is configured to open and close the closeable space. The plurality of side elements comprise an elastic material.

A thermally insulating member includes a plane sheet having two ends spaced in a length direction and two sides spaced in a thickness direction perpendicular to the length direction. The plane sheet includes a plurality of rows of slits between the ends of the plane sheet. Each row of slits extends from one of the sides through the other side of the plane sheet. A first spacing between two adjacent rows of slits in the length direction is larger than a spacing between two adjacent slits in the same row of slits in a width direction perpendicular to the length and width directions by a second spacing. A thermally insulating strip is defined between two adjacent rows of slits. A stretchable rib is formed between two adjacent slits in the same row of slits. Each end of the plane sheet is a coupling portion free of the slits.
