The vertical channel apparatuses feature a low profile flat panel/backplate incorporated therein which abuts to opposing wall(s) from the bottom of the file box/container to the top edge of the file box/container wall connecting to the clip mechanism. The width and design of the backplate and channel has many possible embodiments (e.g. rectangular, triangular). The base width of the vertical channel backplate serves to prevent the apparatuses and divider partition from moving from the weight of the container contents. The counter pressure created by the base width of the backplate on the base edge of the inner container serves to keep the repositionable channel apparatuses vertical and therefore maintaining the partitioned items in the desired location and orientation by preventing the items from moving and/or falling over within the container.
