A utility box or storage system that includes one or more configurable storage compartments. The utility box or storage system can comprise a compartment having a first wall that includes a guide and a second wall, and a plurality of storage units, including at least one of the plurality of storage units that implants into the compartment between the first wall and the second wall. The at least one storage unit can include a ridge that aligns with the guide. The guide can engage the ridge to guide the storage unit during implantation.

An apparatus, system and method for storing and picking product in a plastic tote are disclosed. In one form, the tote is a plastic receptacle with a generally planar bottom and upstanding walls extending from the bottom and defining a receptacle opening on a side opposite the bottom, the upstanding walls forming a front wall, opposing side walls and a rear wall, with the walls extending from the bottom at an obtuse angle so that the receptacle tapers from a larger cross-section at the receptacle opening to a smaller cross-section at the bottom, and with at least one upstanding wall defining a first male or female mating structure for aligning with a second female or male mating structure of a second plastic receptacle when nested with the second plastic receptacle. A container/box partitioning system that utilizes a pair of repositionable and removable vertical channel apparatuses that impermanently attach to opposed inner container walls. The vertical channel apparatuses impermanently attach to the top edge/wall of the container using a pressure clip with many possible embodiments (e.g. tension, spring, snap/click). A divider partition sized to fit whatever container being used is inserted into the channel apparatuses creating a partition. The vertical channel apparatuses can be repositioned/moved by lifting up/down or by sliding horizontally along the top edge of the container when the pressure clip is not being utilized. The vertical channel apparatuses feature a low profile flat panel/backplate incorporated therein which abuts to opposing wall(s) from the bottom of the file box/container to the top edge of the file box/container wall connecting to the clip mechanism. The width and design of the backplate and channel has many possible embodiments (e.g. rectangular, triangular). The base width of the vertical channel backplate serves to prevent the apparatuses and divider partition from moving from the weight of the container contents. The counter pressure created by the base width of the backplate on the base edge of the inner container serves to keep the repositionable channel apparatuses vertical and therefore maintaining the partitioned items in the desired location and orientation by preventing the items from moving and/or falling over within the container.

An adjustable length container that includes an inner container section and an outer container section that fit telescopically together to enable the length of the container to be adjusted. The bottom and side walls of the outer container section include at least two sections so that one of the sections can be removed to shorten the total length of the container. The container optionally includes a removable end wall on the outer container section, a removable and length-adjustable partition in the inner container section and complementary features that permit multiple containers to be securely stacked.
