This aim is achieved, according to the invention, in that the jacket (3) is in the form of a stacking crate (4) made of sheet metal. At least one bottle opener (5) is preferably provided in the jacket (3), in particular punched in or cut out adjacent to the corner region of the beverage crate, and spacers (6), in particular for beverage bottles, are inserted in the stacking crate (4) upon delivery.
