A corrugated cardboard blank for making a collapsible container including one or more panels joined to a bottom panel. The bottom panel is divided into first and second sectional panels on opposing sides of an interface comprising perforated portions extending from a first pair of diagonally opposing corners of the bottom panel. Each perforated portion includes an inner end, wherein the inner ends of the perforated portions are longitudinally spaced from each other. First and second fold lines extend diagonally at least partially between a second pair of diagonally opposing corners of the bottom panel and respective perforated portions. A frangible central portion of the interface extends between the inner ends of the perforated portions, wherein a plurality of unbroken flutes of the corrugated material extend laterally across the central portion of the interface.

The method of collapsing a box from an expanded configuration to a collapsed configuration, the box comprising a side panel and a bottom panel attached to the side panel, can comprise bending a center fold line of the side panel; unbending a length fold line defined between the side panel and the bottom panel; bending a first corner fold line that extends from a bottom panel corner of the bottom panel to an edge fold line of a center subpanel of the bottom panel; and bending a second corner fold line that extends from the bottom panel corner to a longitudinal center line that bisects a bottom panel edge of the bottom panel.

The top panels include openings that register when the box is assembled and in a closed configuration to define an opening to be used as a handhold for gripping the box. Reinforcing panels of one of the top panels includes flaps located on an interior of the box that cover the handhold opening. The box further preferably includes a locking tab and locking panel for latching closed the top panels of the box.

A foldable case and method of making same are disclosed. The foldable case is collapsible between a closed position and an open position without needing to re-fold the sheet of material. The foldable case is made of a sheet of material. The sheet of material has a central portion, opposing first and second portions, and opposing third and fourth portions. First and second portions adjoin a length of respective top and bottom edges of the central portion. Third and fourth portions adjoin a length of respective left and right edges of central portion. A number of folding lines are provided on the sheet of material. The foldable case can be made by folding along the folding lines and adhering first and second portions to the third and fourth portions so as to form a case in the folded configuration.
