A flexible, stackable, reclosable container for storing a quantity of products comprising a plurality of walls defined by a first sheet and a second sheet attached to at least a portion of the first sheet. The second sheet extends over at least three of the walls. The opposing container walls each have a sealed portion and one or more tucks, the tucks comprising a portion of the first sheet tucked toward the interior volume. A portion of the second sheet defines a reclosable feature located over an opening for reclosing the container. The second sheet includes a line of reduced strength at or adjacent at least a boundary adjacent the tucks and disposed between the opposing container walls each having the sealed portion and an adjacent container wall. The second sheet can include a hinge about which the reclosable feature pivots from closed position to open position.

A multi-panel sterilization assembly that includes a barrier panel formed of permeable material having barrier properties, side tabs that include grip portions for folding or unfolding the barrier panel; and a fold protection panel. The barrier panel has a first end and a second end opposite the first end, a first edge and a third edge, each such edge being generally perpendicular to the first end, and a midpoint to generally delineate the barrier panel into a content receiving region extending from approximately the first end to the midpoint and a content covering region extending from the midpoint to approximately the second end. The side tabs are located between the first end and the midpoint of the barrier panel and at or near the first edge and the third edge. The fold protection panel is in juxtaposed communication with the barrier panel such that after folding the content covering region and the first and third edges over the content receiving region, the fold protection panel covers them.

Provided is a multi-compartment pouch with a breakable or openable inner compartment used for mixing of two or more ingredients contained within the compartments without opening the pouch to the atmosphere. In one form, a two-compartment pouch includes a top compartment and a bottom compartment and an inner gusset separating the top compartment from the bottom compartment. The inner gusset includes an openable region and a fold line, and means for grasping and pulling apart the front and rear panels of the pouch to cause the openable region to open to allow for the combining of contents of the top compartment with contents of the bottom compartment without opening the pouch. Also provided are methods for making the multi-compartment pouch.

A woven laminated plastic bag having an easy open feature is provided. The easy open feature is generally defined by a weakened portion in the bag. In various aspects the bag can be fabricated from woven polypropylene and/or polyethylene layer which can be laminated with a film layer, can form a pinch bottom bag, and can have one or both sides include graphics and/or printing. The bag can also provide a top end and/or a bottom end either or both of which provide a discrete area which may contain discrete graphics and/or printing.

Packaging containers for liquids, such as beverages, comprise at least one sidewall comprising an abuse layer comprising a frangible flap; a zoned release coating on an inner surface of the abuse layer over an area that includes the frangible flap; and an inner layer; wherein upon peeling the frangible flap, a portion of the inner layer is exposed intact. A sanitary surface is provided for receiving a straw. Because there is not a pre-formed opening for the straw, the receipt by the inner layer of a straw conforms exactly to the straw, which fits snugly with the container during use.

A woven laminated plastic bag having an easy open feature is provided. The easy open feature is generally defined by a weakened portion in the bag. In various aspects the bag can be fabricated from woven polypropylene and/or polyethylene layer which can be laminated with a film layer, can form a pinch bottom bag, and can have one or both sides include graphics and/or printing. The bag can also provide a top end and/or a bottom end either or both of which provide a discrete area which may contain discrete graphics and/or printing.

Flexible film packages having a partial, initial seal against ambient atmosphere and are easily openable and reclosable. The flexible film packages are generally resealable to extend the shelf-life or freshness of products contained therein once the package is initially opened. By one approach, the flexible film has two opposing edge portions that meet to form a longitudinal seal extending from a first end seal to a second end seal. The flexible film may have a score that defines a package opening. An elongated closure layer (14) may extend over the score and may extend from a first end seal (26) to a second end seal (28) and within the opposing edge portions that form the longitudinal seal (24). The elongated closure layer may have a tack-free gripping portion (40) used to release at least a portion of the elongated closure from the flexible film to form the package opening.

Disclosed is a wrapper for rice covered with layer, which is used to wrap a lump of rice. The wrapper comprising, two films forming sealing parts that are sealed to each other at outer peripheral parts thereof and including laver therebetween, a first cutting groove including a lateral groove formed toward a lateral direction of the film for cutting the film toward a longitudinal direction at a longitudinal upper part of one of the two films, and a covering part attached to seal the first cutting groove. In this case, the first cutting groove is formed under the sealing part longitudinally.

Flexible film packages having an easily opened package feature incorporated therein and method of producing such packages are provided. The package opening feature may be incorporated into a variety of package formats such as flow wrapped packages having a longitudinal seal (including fin seals or lap seals) or packages with side seals (including two-, three-, or four-side seal pouches). In one illustrative approach, the package opening feature is disposed adjacent or at a package seal, such as, for example, an end seal, a top seal, a bottom seal, a side seal, or a longitudinal seal. The flexible film laminate has at least first and second film layers, and at least one of the film layers defining an interior cavity configured to hold food products. In a number of configurations, the flexible film packages may be reclosable or resealable.

Flexible film packages having a partial, initial seal against ambient atmosphere and are easily openable and reclosable. The elongated closure layer may have a tack-free gripping portion used to release at least a portion of the elongated closure from the flexible film to form the package opening.
