SYSTEM SUITABLE FOR STORING AND/OR TRANSPORTING TEMPERATURE-SENSITIVE MATERIALS
System suitable for storing and/or transporting temperature-sensitive materials. In a preferred embodiment, the system may include a cooler made of expanded polystyrene foam. The cooler may include a base and a lid. The base may be a unitary structure that includes a cavity bounded by a bottom wall and four side walls. The base also may include an integral support that may include a platform elevated from the bottom wall, as well as a stanchion extending upwardly from the bottom wall along each of the side walls. The support may be constructed to removably receive a product box in the cavity and to orient the product box at an angle offset from the cavity. Dry ice pellets may be positioned around and under the product box, and additional dry ice pellets may be positioned in a tray mounted on the stanchions over the product box.
Hot Food Storage Assembly
A hot food storage assembly includes a box that may be positioned on a support surface. A cover is removably positioned on the box and the cover has a plurality of openings. A plurality of cans is provided and each of the cans may contain a food item. Each of the cans is comprised of a thermally insulating material. Thus, each of the cans may retain the food item at a pre-determined temperature. Each of the cans is slidably inserted through an associated one of the openings. A plurality of lids is provided and each of the lids is removably coupled to an associated one of the cans. Each of the lids forms a fluid impermeable seal with the associated can. Thus, each of the lids inhibits heat transfer between the food item and air.
INSULATING HOLDER AND METHOD FOR TRANSPORTING BEVERAGES
The invention provides an insulating transport container (10) for transportation of beverages in ready to drink on demand beverage containers over short distances where temperature control is needed inside the beverage container when transporting the hot or cold beverages and which includes an insulating holder for cups (34) positioned or placed therein, which insulating holder (25) reduces temperature changes and inhibits spillage during transportation of cups (34) containing a beverage, wherein the holder includes one or more self supporting resiliently deformable insulating material portions with at least one portion (24) having a plurality of cup receiving cavities (26), which holder is sized and dimensioned to be placed inside the transport container for the transportation of beverages. The invention further provides an insert cover (50) for a beverage cup, said insert cover being a sheet of food grade material which is larger or equivalent in diameter to the top of the cup on which it is to be used and, in use, is placed or inserted to form a cover insert between the top of the cup and a sealing lid, provided that the cover is not sealed or otherwise secured to the cup prior to placing of the lid onto the cup and is only inserted after a beverage has been dispensed into the cup. The invention extends to a method of transporting a beverage.
Transport container
The present invention relates to a transport container which provides mechanical and thermal stability for a load and which container is fabricated as the container is loaded. In particular, the present invention relates to a container which can be readily transported on aircraft, such as an aircraft container. In the field of logistics, that is the field of movement and supply of produce and materials, in particular in the transport of intermediate and finished products, containers have been developed which safely protect from physical damage a wide variety of product. Food and pharmaceutical products not only need protection from physical shock and pressures but also require temperature stability during transportation; otherwise goods can be damaged and be unusable, whether such damage is apparent or not. However, air transport poses a particular problem: Goods can be transported in tropical heat, packaged and placed upon pallets and the like containers whereby they are presented in aircraft style containers. Such goods may be left on runways at extreme temperatures (+40° C.) and then placed within a hold where low pressures and low temperatures exist during flight. At a destination airport the temperatures may well be sub-zero. To simplify transport with respect to airports, planes and handling equipment, there have been developed aircraft Unit Load Devices (ULDs) which comprise any type of pallet or container that can easily be loaded to the aircraft by a ground handler. The present invention seeks to provide a transport container which can maintain goods within a narrow temperature range, can displace a considerably reduced volume before erection, is economical to manufacture, can readily and easily be constructed. The present invention further seeks to provide a transport container which is compatible with standard Unit Load Device specifications.
COLD CHAIN BARRIER WALL PACKAGING SYSTEM
A cold chain packaging system is disclosed that includes a first enclosure for receiving a payload, a second enclosure for receiving the first enclosure, wherein the first enclosure is adapted and configured to create a moat between an exterior surface of the first enclosure and an interior surface of the second enclosure for receiving a phase change material, a third enclosure for receiving the second enclosure, a plurality of spacer blocks for encapsulating the second enclosure within the third enclosure to create a void barrier between an exterior surface of the second enclosure and an interior surface of the third enclosure, and a fourth enclosure for receiving a phase change material, wherein the fourth enclosure is dimensioned and configured to be received within the second enclosure positioned above the first enclosure.
PRODUCT BOX SUITABLE FOR RECEIVING TEMPERATURE-SENSITIVE MATERIALS AND SHIPPING SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME
Product box for use in a shipping system for temperature-sensitive materials and shipping system including the product box. In one embodiment, the product box includes a front, a rear, a left side, and a right side. The upper edges of the front and the rear are higher than the upper edges of the left side and the right side. The box also includes upper flaps hingedly connected to the upper edges of each of the front, the rear, the left side, and the right side and further includes lower flaps hingedly connected to the lower edges of each of the front and the rear. When folded, the upper flaps of the front and the rear are spaced above the upper flaps of the left side and the right side, thereby forming an air gap. Wings at the upper edges of the four sides center the product box within a container.
Multiple purpose container assembly
A multiple purpose container assembly may include a lid and a housing having at least one access port. The lid, the housing, or both may include insulating material to help retard heat transfer between the interior of the assembly and the exterior. In one configuration, the assembly provides an insulating sheltering functionality for a small pet, for example. In a second configuration, the access port is blocked and the assembly provides container functionality as an ice chest, cooler, or bulk container for example.
System and apparatus for holding vials
A system for holding a plurality of vials of a fluid that consists of a biological substance for the purpose of maintaining a predetermined temperature of the biological substance over a predetermined period of time. The system includes a two piece carrier in combination with a one piece vial rack supported by the two piece carrier. The one piece vial rack has a plurality of vial passages each for accommodating an elongated vial that contains the biological substance.
