20230227243 · 2023-07-20 ·

Packaging is provided having a molded base portion with a plurality of cells or compartments each sized and shaped to retain one object. Each of the plurality of cells or compartments have a bottom surface and upstanding peripheral walls with a top edge. The top edge of the peripheral walls define an opening to allow an object to be placed in the cell or compartment. To improve the ease with which a user can remove objects from the base portion, a centrally disposed aperture is provided in the bottom surface of each of the plurality of cells or compartments. The centrally disposed aperture is sized and shaped to permit a user to insert a finger from under the base portion through the centrally aperture in order to raise the object in the cell or compartment to more easily facilitate removal of the object with the user's other hand.

A container or lid may have a body of molded cellulose, the body of molded cellulose defining one or more walls. The wall has an outer surface and an inner surface. A depression is in the outer surface of the wall or walls. One or more labels, is or are embedded in the depression in the outer surface of the wall. A method for labelling a container or lid having a cellulose body may also be provided.

EGG CARTON WITH DUAL HANDLES

An egg carton having base and lid trays that when disposed in vertical alignment (with the lid tray on top of the base tray) form a closed egg carton. The base and lid trays each include a pair of mating handle components, such that when assembled to form a closed carton provide both enhanced strength and ease of carrying the assembled carton. The handles also facilitate handling of the base and lid trays separately during manufacture, packing and transport, and during and after filling the base with eggs. The new base, lid and carton assembly are particularly useful when adapted for holding more than a dozen eggs, for example when holding 30 or more eggs in a rectilinear array of egg cells (arranged in linear rows and transverse linear columns), such as a 5×6 array of egg cells. The lid may further include a labeling area above a select portion of the base cells, the labeling area comprising a flat panel top wall and a depending sidewall forming an empty interior cavity below the top wall, for insertion of labeling material.

EGG STORAGE PACKAGING

The invention relates to the field of storage containers used for the accommodation and delivery of eggs or similar fragile items. The technical result allows the egg trays based on expanded primary and/or recycled (obtained from polyethylene terephthalate waste) polyethylene terephthalate to be recycled as many times as one sees fit. This technical result is achieved by the whole set of essential features. The essence of the invention is that an egg storage tray comprises a base having storage compartments on an inner side of the base, a lid pivotally connected to the base, and a latch configured as a hole provided in the lid and a protrusion provided on the base. The base with the latch and the lid are made of expanded polyethylene terephthalate having a density ranging from 100 kg/m.sup.3 to 900 kg/m.sup.3 and an intrinsic viscosity ranging from 0.5 dl/g to 1.0 dl/g.
