CONTACT LENS BLISTER PACKAGES AND METHODS FOR RECYCLING SAME
Contact lens packages are provided and each includes a base member having a cavity and a sealing member coupled to the base member. An unworn contact lens is provided in a packaging solution within the sealed cavity. The base member is a thermoplastic or other recyclable material. The base member includes at least one connecting member that can be an interlocking feature and/or a stackable feature. The connecting member is configured to connect to the connecting member of another base member, after the contact lenses are removed from the cavities. A recyclable thermoplastic contact lens assembly is also provided that includes empty contact lens package base members stacked and connected together. A method of manufacturing contact lens packages and a method to recycle used contact lens package base members, such as by curbside recycling, are also provided.
Touchless contact lens packages and methods of handling
The present invention relates to improved contact lens packages and methods of use, manufacture, and assembly. A contact lens package houses a contact lens and packaging solution in which the contact lens may be held by surface tension to an intermediate plug, by which the user may insert the contact lens into the wearer's eye. The plug may have an adhesive that temporarily holds the plug to the user's fingertip while the contact lens is inserted into the wearer's eye.
KNIFE CASE
A knife case and associated components and methods. The knife case includes a case body and a plurality of holders. For example, the case may be configured to hold a plurality of blade components configured to be interchangeably mounted on a handle. The knife may be an electric knife, and the case can include a battery dock for holding a spare battery.
PACKAGING SOLUTIONS
A packaging system for the storage of an ophthalmic device is disclosed. The packaging system includes a sealed container containing one or more unused ophthalmic devices immersed in an aqueous packaging solution that includes ectoine or an ophthalmologically acceptable ectoine derivative. The aqueous packaging solution has an osmolality of at least about 150 mOsm/kg, a pH of about 6 to about 9 and is sterilized.
Utensil protection device
A utensil protection device, including a main body to store a head of a utensil therein, a plurality of sealing members removably disposed on a first end of the main body within at least a portion of the main body to prevent the head of the utensil from contamination, and a hinge disposed on a second end of the main body to facilitate movement of the main body from closed in a first position to at least partially opened in a second position.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR BLAST CONTAINMENT
Devices and methods for blast/fire containment are disclosed herein. Devices include containers designed to contain and/or mitigate high energy events such as blasts from explosions or thermal runaways. The containers include a body that is built to define an interior chamber shaped to receive an explosive device or a device susceptible to thermal runaway. The container comprises a plurality of substructures that are arranged in a layered sequence to provide the desired effect. The substructures act in concert to decouple the shock load to the main containment structure using shock decoupling with energy dissipation and attenuation technology, having a highly deformable polymer structure, and managed venting. In thermally dominated events, such as a runaway LI battery fire, a crushable medium present in one or more layers of the container presents a significant thermal barrier and contains the fire.
CONNECTABLE CONTACT LENS PACKAGES FOR RECYCLING
Contact lens packages are provided and each includes a base member having a cavity and a sealing member coupled to the base member. An unworn contact lens is provided in a packaging solution within the sealed cavity. The base member is a thermoplastic or other recyclable material. The base member includes at least one latch and at least one slot. The latch and slot are configured to connect to the slot and latch, respectively, of another base member, after the contact lenses are removed from the cavities. A recyclable thermoplastic contact lens assembly is also provided that includes empty contact lens package base members stacked and connected together. A method to recycle used contact lens package base members, such as by curbside recycling, is also provided.
AN INSULATING MEDICAL DEVICE FOR PROTECTING A GRAFT FOR TRANSPLANT
A medical device for thermally insulating a graft to be transplanted includes a cover body or receptacle. The cover body includes a cavity within which the graft is received, in use. The cover body is made of a biocompatible thermally insulating material. The cover body has a shape similar to that of the graft. In use, the medical device is configured to keep the graft received therein sufficiently cool to substantially prevent warm ischaemic injury to the graft.
CONTACT LENS PACKAGES AND METHODS OF HANDLING AND MANUFACTURE
The present invention relates to improved contact lens packages and methods of use and manufacture/assembly. A contact lens package houses a contact lens and packaging solution and is configured to lift the contact lens out of the packaging solution when force is applied to a lever of the package and/or when the package is squeezed by the user.
Contact Lens Packaging
A contact lens package includes a first layer, a support coupled to the first layer, a lens, and a second layer. The support includes a scaffold and a porous member attached to the scaffold where the porous member includes a curved surface. The lens includes an anterior surface and a posterior surface, and the posterior surface of the lens is disposed on the curved surface of the porous member. The second layer is coupled to the first layer to seal the support and the lens between the first layer and the second layer.
