The present invention is a sharps container with an integral device for the removal of disposable straight edge razor blades from the razor handle. The used blades are removed from the razor handle and deposited into a sharps container without the user having to physically touch the blade.

A device for the removal of used razor blades from the razor handle where the barber does not have to physically touch the used razor blade to remove it from the razor handle. The used razor blades are removed from the razor handle by a magnetic blade removal mechanism and then deposited into a sharps container.

A blade container includes a box and a lid. The box includes a recycling chamber, a severing slit in communication with the recycling chamber, a storing chamber next to the recycling chamber, and an aperture in communication with the storing chamber and in parallel to the severing slit. The lid is attachable to the box, thereby closing the aperture and the severing slit.
