In some embodiments, one or more sensors (e.g., temperature sensors, load sensors, etc.) are supported by the shaft of a conveyor idler. In some embodiments, one or more sensors are in data communication with a wireless transmitter. In some embodiments, a power generator driven by rotation of the idler is in electrical communication with one or more sensors and/or a wireless transmitter. In some embodiments, a plurality of idlers monitoring systems are in data communication with a conveyor monitoring system and/or operational monitoring system.

A road barrier transfer machine includes an improved capstan control system that reduces unwanted migration of road barrier spans without requiring inaccurate visual observations and reliance on outdated scripts. The barrier transfer machine includes a moveable chassis, an entry snout, an exit snout, a conveyor system, a capstan system, and the capstan control system. The capstan control system automatically operates the capstan system or provides instructions to an operator of the machine to maintain the tension and compression of a road barrier span within desired ranges to reduce unwanted migration of the span.

In some embodiments, the controller has code that instructs the shovel control system to place the shovel in a position to load the shovel; instructs the speed control system to move the autonomous loader into a load zone; determines whether the shovel has been filled with material from the load zone; instructs the shovel control system to raise the shovel a predetermined amount; determines a second time whether the shovel has been filled with material from the load zone; instructs the shovel control system to raise the shovel out of the load zone; and instructs the shovel control system to shake the shovel.

In some embodiments, a method may include receiving dump truck geolocation data for a dump truck; receiving loader geolocation data for an autonomous loader; raising a bucket on the autonomous loader to a height; directing the autonomous loader toward the dump truck using the loader geolocation data and the dump truck geolocation data so that the bucket is positioned above a body or bed of the dump truck; and rotating the bucket downward to release a load in the bucket into the body or bed of dump truck.
