Terminal for transfer of dry, flowable, granular materials

A transfer terminal is shown for off-loading dry, flowable, granular material from large transportation vehicles such as trucks or barges to smaller transport trucks. A pouch within a tank is provided for receiving the material, which material is distributed to storage silos. A single elevator is used to load the pouch and all storage silos. By aeration of the materials, a very low angle of repose is created for the material, which allows the material to flow at a very low angle, both to and from the various silos. Material being loaded into a transport truck flows through the pouch.

An automated bulk bag unloading system is configured for autonomously unloading bulk materials from a bulk bag into a hopper. The automated bulk bag unloading system includes a bag moving assembly and an automated cutting system. The bag moving assembly is configured to move the bulk bag from a loading location to a bag cutting area above the hopper. The automated cutting system is positioned over the hopper in the bag cutting area and includes at least one automated cutting device configured to cut open a bottom of the bulk bag while in position over the hopper. Wherein, when the bag moving assembly moves the bulk bag from the loading location to the bag cutting area over the hopper, and the automated cutting system cuts open the bottom, the bulk materials discharge out of the bottom of the bulk bag and drop into the hopper.
