The apparatus for the extraction of ingredients from plant material, in particular alkaloids or tobacco flavors from tobacco material comprises a first screw conveyor (1, 22) with at least one rotatably driven first screw (8, 25, 26), which is adapted to convey the plant material from a first screw conveyor inlet (3, 37) to a first screw conveyor outlet (4). The apparatus further comprises a second screw conveyor (9, 23) with at least one rotatably driven second screw (9, 27, 28), which is adapted to convey the plant material from a second screw conveyor inlet (6) to a second screw conveyor outlet (7). A fluid connection (5, 38) is provided in between the first screw conveyor outlet (4) and the second screw conveyor inlet (6). The fluid connection is adapted to enable flow of plant material from the first screw conveyor outlet to the second screw conveyor inlet. The first screw conveyor has a first fluid outlet at its downstream side. The second screw conveyor has a second fluid outlet at its downstream side.

An input of a gearbox is connected to an outward end of the drive shaft and a sweep wheel having a plurality of notches, arms and feet is connected to an output of the gearbox. A drive shield is placed around a rearward side of the sweep wheel that forms a channel that is configured to capture grain agitated by the drive wheel. A guide plate is connected to the gearbox and covers a portion of the gearbox. The guide plate angles from an upper outward edge downward and forward to a lower inward edge that is configured to urge the grain captured within the channel of the drive shield to move in front of the sweep auger system reducing grain left in the grain bin.

The invention relates to a method for drying a quantity of moulding powder, such as starch, used in a confectionery moulding process to a desired moisture content. The quantity of moulding powder is divided into at least a first fraction and a second fraction, wherein the first fraction is dried to a first moisture content and the second fraction is dried to or remains at a second moisture content, the first moisture content being lower than the second moisture content, wherein at least a portion of the dried first fraction and at least a portion of the second fraction are combined in order to obtain a resulting moulding powder having the desired moisture content. Further, the invention relates to a system for carrying out the method.

A powder supplier, which supplies a powder material to a pressure molding mechanism that continuously generates a molded body, including: a casing having an inlet to which the powder material is supplied and an outlet from which the powder material is discharged; one or a plurality of screws being disposed inside the casing and rotationally driven to transport the powder material in an axial direction; motors being disposed outside the casing and rotationally driving screws; and a regulator being disposed between the screws, and the outlet inside the casing, and regulating a flow of the powder material. The regulator has a rotation shaft perpendicular to the axial direction of the screws, and a width direction of the powder material discharged from the outlet, and being configured to rotate about the rotation shaft.
