METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR A TRANSFER TAPE APPLIED TO FORM A RAISED PROFILE

Methods and apparatus to form elevated profiles in mounted turn-up transfer tapes for paper processing. In some embodiments, the transfer tape may be a combination of a tape substrate coated on one side with a web grabbing adhesive and on the other side with a mounting adhesive and an affixed cord or cordlike feature, and a release liner having a release liner substrate fully coated on a first side with a release layer and zone-coated on a second side with a release layer. In some embodiments an elevated profile, similar to that resulting from the incorporated cord or cordlike feature, may be formed during the application of the transfer tape with specialized apparatus.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING AND SPOOLING A PAPER WEB

A paper tape turn-up construct including a cover flap and a multi-bend structure to both protect an adhesive layer and to build an optimized elevated structure to present the adhesive layer during initiation of the paper web turn up process. Methods and apparatus to form the constructs and apply the constructs to paper production equipment are also included. The multi-bend paper turn up construct includes layers of adhesive and pulpable substrate with strategically located release materials, such as silicon that enhance a bridging of a gap between a rotating paper web and an empty spool surface.

Equipment for removing paper from parent reels used for the production of paper logs of paper material, including a support system adapted to support an exhausted parent reel, where the exhausted parent reel includes a tubular core on which residual paper to be removed is wound, and including removal capabilities for removing the residual paper from the core when the exhausted parent reel is placed on the support system. The removal capabilities include a suction cylinder having a horizontal axis onto which the paper is transferred by effect of the contact between the suction cylinder and the exhausted parent reel and by effect of the rotation of the suction cylinder around the horizontal axis.

REWINDING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING ROLLS OF WEB MATERIAL

The rewinding machine includes a first winding cradle, formed between a first winding roller, a second winding roller and a third winding roller, and a second winding cradle formed between the first winding roller, the second winding roller and a fourth winding roller. The first winding roller and the second winding roller define a nip through which nip the winding cores, around which the web material is found, pass and the web material is fed towards a roll being formed in the second winding cradle. A severing member is furthermore provided, acting on the web material between a winding core and the nip, to sever the web material thus generating a tail edge of a completed roll and a leading edge of a new roll to be wound.

METHODS OF ATTACHING A FLAT LAYER TO A HUB OF AN AXIAL FLOW ELEMENT

An axial flow element for use in a liquid separation system for an internal combustion engine includes a hub, a groove, a locking member, and a flat layer. The hub includes a cylindrical outer surface. The groove is disposed in the outer surface. The groove extends in a substantially longitudinal direction along the hub from a first end of the hub to a second end of the hub. The locking member is disposed in the groove. The flat layer is disposed between the hub and the locking member.

Method and Device for Successively Winding a Film Web, and Film Roll
20210403267 · 2021-12-30 ·

The invention relates to a method for successively winding a film web onto a plurality of spools, wherein the film web is wound to form a first spool, and a tube and/or winding shaft for forming a subsequent second spool and the film web are moved closer to one another and/or are brought into contact with one another upstream of the first spool. The film web is cut, and thus an end of the film web is produced, with end is wound onto the first spool, and a new start of the file web is produced, which is wound onto the second tube. In order to cut the film web, the film web is cut partially in the transverse direction, at least one cut edge and at least one uncut region remaining in the transverse direction, the uncut region being subsequently torn off or cut off.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING AND SPOOLING A PAPER WEB

An apparatus for dispensing an adhesive with paper covers to be used in a paper web turn-up operation. The resulting adhesive and paper cover construct is used in effecting the attachment of a paper web to an approaching spool. In some examples, the paper cover of the deposited adhesive may be affixed on two sides surrounding the deposited adhesive, in other examples a single attachment may be used. In some examples, the paper cover may be perforated to facilitate rupture of the paper and flow of adhesive. In some examples, perforations may enable the movement of adhesive through the paper.

Solid roll product formed from surface rewinder with belt and winding drum forming a winding nest

A rewinding machine winds web material into a log. The machine has a winding drum that is rotatable about a center axis and about which the web material to be wound is directed. A continuous loop is spaced from the winding drum and with the winding drum defines a nip through which the web material is directed when winding the web material into the log. The continuous loop is configured to move in a direction generally opposite of a direction of the winding drum at the nip. The continuous loop is configured to change speed relative to a speed of the winding drum during winding the web material into the log about a lead edge of the web material. The continuous loop is positionable relative to the winding drum at the nip to accommodate winding the web material into the log about the lead edge of the web material and to sever the web material.

A family of paper tape turn-up constructs for accomplishing automated paper web turnup in paper processing. Methods and apparatus to form the constructs are described. Methods and Apparatus to apply the constructs to paper production equipment are also described. In some examples, the paper tape turn-up construct includes a cover flap to protect an adhesive layer during initiation of the paper web turn up process.

Rewinding machine and method of producing logs of web material

The rewinding machine includes a first winding cradle formed between a first winding roller, a second winding roller and a third winding roller. The first winding roller and the second winding roller define a nip through which there pass the winding cores with the web material being wound around them. The rewinding machine also includes a feed path of the winding cores that pass between the first winding roller and the third winding roller. A second winding cradle is formed between the first winding roller, the second winding roller and a fourth winding roller. The rewinding machine also includes a rolling surface extending around the first winding roller and defining a feed channel of the winding cores.
