A method for automatic packaging of sanitary articles (A) in at least one first type of package (I) and one second type of package (II) containing, respectively, a first number of articles and a second number of articles, envisages: providing a flow of incoming articles diverting (10) articles from said flow of articles with a ratio between non-deflected articles and deflected articles that is a function of the ratio between the aforesaid first number and the aforesaid second number, generating a main flow of non-deflected articles (A) that may be packaged in the packages of the first type (I) and a derived flow of deflected articles that may be packaged in the packages of the second type (II).

A recording material conveyance apparatus includes a hardware processor and a measurement section. The hardware processor is capable of performing switching control of, in response to, among a plurality of recording material housing sections that house recording materials, a first recording material housing section becoming out of recording material while a recording material fed from the first recording material housing section is being conveyed, selecting a second recording material housing section to cause a recording material housed in the second recording material housing section to be conveyed. In the switching control, the hardware processor selects the second recording material housing section based on a measured physical property value of each of the recording materials of the recording material housing section The measurement section measures the physical property value of each of the recording materials of the recording material housing section.
