The transport path of the conveyor is defined by the contact surfaces of the first and second contact elements in the contact regions, and the first plurality of contact elements are belts and the second plurality of contact elements are wheels.

A conveying apparatus includes an upper conveyor and a lower conveyor, the top of the lower conveyor facing the bottom of the upper conveyor and defining with the bottom of the upper conveyor a sheet transport path. An air duct having an opening facing the top of the upper conveyor is mounted over the upper conveyor, and a fan is provided that is in fluid communication with the air duct. The fan draws air through the opening, into the air duct and out an exhaust vent. A housing substantially encloses the upper conveyor and the lower conveyor and is connected to the air duct, and the housing has a bottom opening located below the sheet transport path such that a majority of the air drawn through the opening by the fan passes through the upper conveyor.

The invention relates to a packaging system (1) and to a method for feeding flat packaging materials (20) to a packaging system (1). The packaging system (1) comprises a packaging module (2), a first transport device (3) for feeding articles to the packaging module (2) in a first transport direction (TR1), and a second transport device (4) for feeding flat packaging materials (20) arranged in a first upright orientation (22sv1) in a second transport direction (TR2), which second transport direction (TR2) differs from the first transport direction (TR1). Furthermore, the packaging system (1) comprises a handling device (5) for arranging the flat packaging materials (20) on the second transport device (4), wherein the packaging system (1) comprises at least one displacement unit (8), which displacement unit (8) is configured to displace a plurality of upright packaging materials (20) relative to one another, which displacement unit (8) has vertically oriented side walls (9) and a support surface (10), wherein an angle differing from 90 degrees is formed between each of the side walls (9) and the support surface (10).

A paper sheet handling apparatus includes: a conveyance path on which a bundle of paper sheets is conveyed; and a detector including a plurality of ultrasonic wave sensors, which is arranged on the conveyance path, and detecting presence or absence of a foreign substance, which is mixed in the bundle of paper sheets by the plurality of ultrasonic wave sensors. The detector causes the plurality of ultrasonic wave sensors to respectively irradiate, with ultrasonic waves, a plurality of positions on a paper surface of the bundle of paper sheets, which is conveyed along the conveyance path, and detects the presence or absence of the foreign substance based on reflected waves of the ultrasonic waves from the plurality of positions.
