MEDIUM-TRANSPORTING DEVICE AND IMAGE READING APPARATUS
A document transporting device includes a main body unit that forms an inner side of an inverting path, a cover unit that exposes a portion of the inverting path, a movable unit, a transport roller, a driven roller, and a roller supporting unit that forms an outer side of the inverting path. By receiving a force from the cover unit, the roller supporting unit rotates in a direction in which the driven roller moves away from the transport roller. By receiving a force from the roller supporting unit, the movable unit rotates in a direction in which the movable unit retreats from the main body unit.
SHEET CONVEYANCE DEVICE
A sheet conveyance device of an embodiment includes a carrying-in unit feeds a sheet to a stacking unit; a lower conveyance unit applies a force to a lower side of a sheet stacked on the stacking unit to move the sheet; a lifting and lowering unit lifts and lowers at least an end of the lower conveyance unit on a side close to the carrying-in unit in at least three stages (lower, middle, and upper); an upper conveyance unit faces the lower conveyance unit and applies a force to the upper side of a sheet pinched between the upper conveyance unit and the lower conveyance unit that is moved to the upper stage to move the sheet; and a stopper protrudes above the lower conveyance unit placed at the lower stage by the lifting and lowering unit, and the downstream end in the feeding direction of a sheet abuts on the stopper.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPLEMENTING SELECTABLE INPUT MEDIA ROUTING OF MULTIPLE INPUT MEDIA FORMS FROM MULTIPLE AXES IN IMAGE FORMING DEVICES
Systems and methods are provided for configuring media transport flow paths for directing input image receiving media, including of different types, in sheet or roll form from multiple axes to provide wider latitude in selecting particular input image receiving media and combinations of input image receiving media to support execution of a print job. The disclosed schemes are directed at using one or more stationary turn bars disposed generally at 45° in an input media transport path approaching a marking module in an image forming system to allow for sheets or sheeted materials to be positioned at 90° to the in-line input image receiving media transport path directed toward the marking module thus allowing for flexibility in selection among various sources of stacked, pallet and rolled media.
Paper path structure, stacker, printer and method for operating a paper path structure
The invention provides a paper path structure that is able to perform the following four functions: pass a sheet of paper through the paper path structure with is original orientation maintained; pass a sheet of paper through the paper path structure with its original orientation reversed; stack a sheet of paper in a stack repository with its original orientation maintained; and stack a sheet of paper in the stack repository with its original orientation reversed. The invention also provides a method to operate said paper path structure as well as a stacker and a printer comprising said paper path structure.
MEDIUM TRANSPORT DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A medium transport device includes a guide configured to guide a medium on which an image is recorded, and curved along a transport direction of the medium, and an actuator configured to actuate the guide between a contact position where the guide is in contact with the medium and a separation position where the guide is separated from the medium. The guide is configured to move to the contact position until a leading edge of the medium in the transport direction passes along the guide, and move to the separation position after the leading edge of the medium in the transport direction has passed along the guide.
Printing device configured to separate sheet into first sheet and second sheet, discharge first sheet, and reuse second sheet
A printing device includes: a feeding tray on which a sheet can be mounted; a first conveying passage; an image forming unit disposed along the first conveying passage and configured to record an image on the sheet; a cutting unit disposed along the first conveying passage downstream of the image recording unit and configured to cut the sheet; a second conveying passage connected to the first conveying passage; and a controller configured to perform: conveying the sheet mounted on the feeding tray to the image recording unit; recording an image on the sheet by the image recording unit; cutting the recorded sheet at a cutting position on the sheet to divide the sheet into a first sheet on which the image has been recorded and a second sheet on which the image has not been recorded; discharging the first sheet; and conveying the second sheet to the second conveying passage.
RECORDING APPARATUS
A recording apparatus includes a feed roller, a conveyance roller, a recording unit, a reverse path, and a control unit. The conveyance roller conveys a sheet fed by the feed roller. The recording unit performs recording on the conveyed sheet. The reverse path reverses, in the reverse path, a traveling direction of the sheet on which the recording is performed. The control unit performs control so that a leading edge of a second sheet overlaps a first sheet on which recording is being performed by the recording unit. Recording on the second sheet is to be performed by the recording unit following the recording on the first sheet. The control unit performs control to reverse the traveling direction of the first sheet and the traveling direction of the second sheet in the reverse path while maintaining an overlapping state of the first sheet and the second sheet.
