A supply device for a roll medium includes a drawer-type lower holding unit configured to support a shaft of a roll medium to hold the roll medium, and a guide member configured to be pressed in a direction toward the shaft from below to come into contact with the roll medium held by the lower holding unit, and be displaced in accordance with a change in an outer diameter of the roll medium. In addition, the lower holding unit is configured to be drawn from a main body of the supply device in a first direction. When the lower holding unit, in a drawn-out state, is stored in the main body of the supply unit, the guide member comes into contact with the roll medium. The guide member is caused to be retracted downward from a travel path of the lower holding unit against a force pressing upward from below.

A device for dispensing a roll of sheet stock material includes a first pair of rollers. The first pair of rollers is driven by an electric motor. The first pair of rollers is configured to receive expandable slit paper between the first pair of rollers. The first pair of rollers is configured to modify a force of friction applied to an outer surface of the expandable slit paper.

Systems for processing material, taping stations to apply tape to one or more rolls of material, and methods of processing material are disclosed herein. A system for processing material includes a winding station and a taping station. The winding station includes a winder to wrap material around a mandrel to produce one or more rolls of material. The taping station is arranged downstream of the winding station to receive the one or more rolls of material therefrom and apply tape to the one or more rolls of material.

A feed tray configured to accommodate a roll, in which a sheet-shaped medium is rolled in a roll shape, the feed tray includes: a support portion configured to contact an outer peripheral surface of a lower portion of the roll at two support positions with a lower end of the roll being interposed therebetween and to rotatably support the roll; and a path having an inlet disposed between the two support positions and configured to guide the sheet-shaped medium unrolled from the roll. The two support positions are shifted from each other in an upper-lower direction.

According to an embodiment, a printer includes a drop portion that catches, in a case where a diameter of a roll of paper stored in a holder becomes small, the roll of paper that falls from the holder. The printer further includes a plurality of support rollers that are arranged so as to sandwich an inlet of the drop portion and rotatably support the roll of paper PR stored in the holder. Described herein is a material roll feeder that may be used for automatically feeding material into a machine, such as an electronic cutting machine. The roll feeder includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion may be configured to rotatably support a roll of material and the second portion may define a channel configured to receive and guide material from the roll of material therethrough. The second portion of the roll feeder may comprise guide geometry configured to operably enable a separated section of material that has been separated from the roll of material to move over a top surface of the roll of material.

A roll medium is accommodated in a medium cassette. The roll medium has a configuration where a continuous medium is rolled in a roll shape. The roll medium rotates in a direction that the roll medium is unrolled as the continuous medium unrolled from the roll medium is conveyed in a conveying direction away from the roll medium. The supply facility comprises a preparation station (32), said preparation station comprising a manipulator arm (70), and at least one motor (53), the preparation station and the unwinder being distinct from the green tire manufacturing machine. The method comprises the following successive operations: loading the reel onto the unwinder; positioning the end of the product wound on the réel; arranging the end of the product in such a way that it is laid on a dispenser of the unwinder; and transferring the reel from the preparation station to the green tire manufacturing machine.
