Rewinding machine for producing paper logs by winding a paper web, include: an element for feeding a paper web along a predetermined path at a predetermined feeding speed; web pre-cutting elements; web winding elements; web sizing elements, with a pad adapted to cyclically apply glue by contact on the web, the pad being mounted on a pad-holder device connected with a corresponding actuator. The pad is mounted on the pad-holder device by an elastic support which deforms elastically, such that the pad moves elastically towards the pad-holder, when it is subjected to a pressure and moves automatically in the opposite direction returning to its previous position when the pad is no longer subjected to a pressure.

A gluing device including a guide roller to guide the tail of the log; on the guide roller, retaining elements to engage and retain the tail on the guide roller; a gluing member, to apply a glue to the tail retained on the guide roller. There are also provided embossing members, arranged and controlled to emboss a portion of the tail of the log. The gluing member applies the glue to embossing protrusions formed by the embossing members.

The present invention relates to a method to remove an adhesive label (22) from a bobbin (28), the bobbin including an end portion (24) and an outer surface (25), the method including: providing a bobbin of a coiled sheet closed by an adhesive label positioned on top of the end portion of the coiled sheet (26) to attach the same to the outer surface of the bobbin; locating the adhesive label; applying a sucking force to the location of the adhesive label so as to detach the adhesive label and the end portion of the coiled sheet from the bobbin; and cutting a part of the detached end portion including the adhesive label from the bobbin. The present invention also relates to an apparatus to detach an adhesive label from an end portion of a coiled sheet in a bobbin, the adhesive label being located between the end portion and an outer surface of the bobbin.

A nonadhesive phase-change material application apparatus for bonding the tail of a convolutely wound log to the body is provided. The nonadhesive phase-change material application apparatus has at least one nonadhesive phase-change material applicator that defines a cavity conveying a volume of nonadhesive phase-change material from a reservoir to an application site.

A gluing group for a rewinding machine for applying glue to an end edge of a log comprising a delivery roller (12) supported in an idle manner by supporting and translation guiding elements (15, 16), delivery means (20) for delivering a glue line (11) on one of the generatrices of the delivery roller (12), a linear actuator (30) connected to said delivery roller (12) to transmit the approaching and distancing movement of the delivery roller (12) against the paper (11) being wound onto a contrast roller (115). A rewinding machine comprising such gluing group and a related method for gluing the end edge also form part of the invention.

The present invention also relates to an apparatus to detach an adhesive label from an end portion of a coiled sheet in a bobbin, the adhesive label being located between the end portion and an outer surface of the bobbin.

A method for securing a web end of a paper web on a first drum during a change of drum, the method includes passing the web end through a nip between a Pope roller and the second drum and applying adhesive to an area of the web end on a downward-rotating area of the Pope roller after the web end is passed through the nip.

A gluing device (10) for gluing an end edge (11) of a log (11) comprising, in succession, an introducing group (20) for introducing logs (11) into the gluing device (10), a handling group (30) for handling the log (11) associated with detection means for detecting the end edge (11) and comprising a pair of rollers (31, 32) selectively for advancing and for holding in rotation the log (11), a glue dispensing group (40) and a transferring group (50) for transferring the log (11) comprising a transferring plane (51) arranged downstream of the lower handling roller (32), between the lower handling roller (32) and the transferring plane (51) has a space (35) for the passage of the end edge (11), the glue dispensing group (40) being arranged below the transferring plane (51) and comprising a transversal row of glue dispensing nozzles (41) are selectively disinsertable and directed towards the lower handling roller (32), and it comprises a transversal alignment device (23) for aligning the log (11) arranged upstream of the glue dispensing group (40). A related method of gluing the end edge is also part of the invention.

A gluing group for a rewinding machine for applying glue to an end edge of a log comprising a delivery roller (12) supported in an idle manner by supporting and translation guiding elements (15, 16), delivery means (20) for delivering a glue line (11) on one of the generatrices of the delivery roller (12), a linear actuator (30) connected to said delivery roller (12) to transmit the approaching and distancing movement of the delivery roller (12) against the paper (11) being wound onto a contrast roller (115).

A rewinding machine comprising such gluing group and a related method for gluing the end edge also form part of the invention.

A feeding path (P) is provided for rolls (R, R1) to be closed and a closing station placed along that path. Two rollers (15, 17) form a cradle (19) for receiving the rolls (R, R1). A closing member (21) is provided to close a tail end (L). A rotating assembly (23) rotates around an axis (A-A) transverse to the feeding path and has groups (27A, 27B, 27C) of arms (28A; 28B, 28C) arranged with respect to one another angularly displaced around the rotation axis of the rotating assembly (23). Each arm has a front part (29) to eject a roll (R, R1) from the cradle (19) and a back part (31) to prevent a subsequent roll entering the closing station until the ejection of a roll from the cradle (19). Rotation of assembly (23) causes closed roll ejection and allows a subsequent roll (R1) to enter and be closed.
