The device (9) includes a feed path (P) of the logs (R), configured to feed the logs in a direction orthogonal to the axis of the logs; and one or more pick-up members (27) spaced from one another in a direction transverse to the feed path (P) of the logs (R). The pick-up members are adapted to pick up individual logs (R) from a pick-up position along the feed path (P); and transfer each log (R) from the measuring position back to the feed path substantially in the position in which it was picked up.

A gluing device including a guide roller to guide the tail of the log; on the guide roller, retaining elements to engage and retain the tail on the guide roller; a gluing member, to apply a glue to the tail retained on the guide roller. There are also provided embossing members, arranged and controlled to emboss a portion of the tail of the log. The gluing member applies the glue to embossing protrusions formed by the embossing members.

A device for providing improved measurements of logs. The device includes a feed path of the logs, configured to feed the logs in a direction orthogonal to the axis of the logs; and one or more pick-up members spaced from one another in a direction transverse to the feed path of the logs. The pick-up members are adapted to pick up individual logs from a pick-up position along the feed path; and transfer each log from the measuring position back to the feed path substantially in the position in which it was picked up.

A roll body taking-out unit that takes out a roll body from a reel that holds a carrier tape storing components in a state of the roll body and stores the roll body in a case is provided. The roll body taking-out unit includes a separation unit that separates the roll body from the reel, and a roll body storage unit that stores the roll body separated from the reel by the separation unit in a case. Further, the roll body storage unit includes a case holding part that holds an empty case, and a chute part that stores the roll body separated from the reel by the separation unit one by one in the empty case held by the case holding part.
