A sheet processing apparatus includes a sheet holding unit, a sheet conveying unit configured to convey a plurality of sheets one by one onto the sheet holding unit during sheet processing, wherein the plurality of sheets including a first sheet and a second sheet that is conveyed immediately after the first sheet and is a last of the plurality of sheets that is conveyed, an adhesive applying unit configured to apply an adhesive material, and a control unit configured to control the adhesive material applying unit to apply the adhesive material on the first sheet held on the sheet holding unit before the second sheet is conveyed onto the first sheet and cause the adhesive material applying unit to not apply the adhesive material on the second sheet after the second sheet is conveyed onto the first sheet.

A booklet making apparatus includes a pressurizing member configured to oppose a first surface of a sheet bundle, a receiving member configured to oppose a second surface of the sheet bundle opposite to the first surface and nip the sheet bundle together with the pressurizing member, a moving portion configured to move the pressurizing member to a retracted position where the pressurizing member is retracted from the sheet bundle and a pressurizing position where the pressurizing member is in contact with the sheet bundle to pressurize the sheet bundle, a heating portion configured to heat the pressurizing member, and a sheet separation member configured to come into contact with the first surface of the sheet bundle and separate the sheet bundle from the pressurizing member in a process of the pressurizing member moving from the pressurizing position to the retracted position.

The binding device includes a frame, a tape supply unit installed on the frame for supplying an adhesive tape, a first damper and a second damper mounted on the frame for clamping the adhesive tape, and a first roller and a second roller installed on the frame. The first roller and the second roller push and paste the adhesive tape between the first damper and the second damper onto a pair of opposite sides of the material strip reel.

The circuitry is to employ a pre-trained model trained on correlation relationships, as training data, among the medium characteristic, the liquid characteristic, a liquid application amount, and a physical pressure, to obtain a pre-trained application amount and a pre-trained physical pressure based on the medium characteristic and the liquid characteristic; set the pre-trained application amount and the pre-trained physical pressure; and control the liquid applier and the medium processing device to perform the liquid application and the given operation according to the pre-trained application amount and the pre-trained physical pressure.
