PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD
A printing apparatus includes a printing unit, a first conveyance unit configured to convey a print medium in a conveyance direction, a second conveyance unit configured to convey a print medium printed by the printing unit, on a downstream side in the conveyance direction of the first conveyance unit, and a control unit configured to perform reduction control of reducing an overlap amount of a preceding print medium and a succeeding print medium, from an overlap state in which the succeeding print medium overlaps a trailing edge of the preceding print medium. The reduction control includes control of conveying the preceding print medium conveyed by the second conveyance unit faster than the succeeding print medium conveyed by the first conveyance unit, in a state in which the first conveyance unit is capable of conveying the succeeding print medium.
Printing apparatus and printing method
A printing apparatus conveys preceding and following sheets to form an overlapping portion where a trailing edge of the preceding sheet and a leading edge of the following sheet overlap each other at a printing position facing an ejection port surface of a printing unit, and prints the preceding and following sheets by ejecting ink from ejection ports based on a relative movement between the printing unit and the preceding and following sheets. The printing unit delays ink ejection timing for printing the overlapping portion of a sheet located closer to the ejection port surface at a position facing the ejection ports from ink ejection timing for printing a non-overlapping portion where the preceding sheet and the following sheet do not overlap each other in one of the preceding sheet and the following sheet.

UNDERLAPPING SHEET FEEDERS
A sheet feeder comprises a roller configured to rotate about an axis and an input drive configured to deliver single sheets to the roller such that a leading edge of each sheet is substantially parallel to the axis. The roller comprises a plurality of flexible fins extending along the axis. As the roller rotates, one of the sheets can be lifted by the rotating fins to pass over the roller, while the leading edge of a following sheet is delivered to the roller in an underlapping relationship with the first sheet.
Collating apparatus and a method for operating such a collating apparatus
A collating apparatus (10), in particular for printed products such as brochures, flyers or the like, comprising a collecting section (11) having at least two collecting zones (11a,b) arranged in parallel and working independently of each other, onto which respectively a plurality of products are fed successively and are united lying one on top of the other into a collected product, and at least one further processing section (13, 15) positioned behind the collecting section (11) having at least one further processing apparatus (13a,b; 15a,b). High flexibility during operation is achieved by the arrangement between the collecting section (11) and the at least one further processing section (13, 15) of a distribution apparatus (12), which feeds the collected products arriving from the collecting zones (11a,b) selectively to the at least one further processing apparatus (13a,b, 15a,b).
Printing apparatus and control method
A printing apparatus includes a control unit that reduces an overlap amount of a preceding print medium and a succeeding print medium, from an overlap state in which the succeeding print medium overlaps a trailing edge of the preceding print medium and alternately performs an operation of conveying a print medium by a first conveyance unit and a printing operation of ejecting ink on the print medium while moving a carriage in a state in which the print medium stops. The reduction control conveys the preceding print medium conveyed by the second conveyance unit faster than the succeeding print medium conveyed by the first conveyance unit, in a state in which the printing control for the succeeding print medium is executed.
SHINGLING DEVICE AND SHEET PRODUCTION LINE COMPRISING THE SHINGLING DEVICE
The shingling device comprises: a shingling conveyor, adapted to receive a stream of sheets aligned with one another and not overlapping; a braking device, positioned above the shingling conveyor and configured to slow down the sheets arriving to the shingling conveyor, and to partially overlap the incoming sheets in shingling fashion. The braking device comprises: a first set of braking wheels aligned with one another along a first rotation axis orthogonal to a feed direction of the sheets to the shingling conveyor; and a second set of braking wheels aligned with one another along a second rotation axis orthogonal to the feed direction of the sheets to the shingling conveyor.
