An image forming device includes an image forming unit, a roller unit, a static elimination brush, a moving unit, and a control unit. The static elimination brush eliminates static electricity of the printing medium. The moving unit moves the static elimination brush between a first position that does not intersect a first conveyance path on a downstream side of the roller unit in the conveyance path and a second position that intersects the first conveyance path. The control unit controls the moving unit during the conveyance of the printing medium, positions the static elimination brush at a position different from the second position until a front end of the printing medium passes an intersection position at which the static elimination brush and the first conveyance path intersect if the static elimination brush is positioned at the second position, and moves the static elimination brush to the second position after the front end of the printing medium passes the intersection position until a rear end of the printing medium passes the intersection position.
RECORDING APPARATUS AND CONVEYANCE APPARATUS
A recording apparatus includes a conveyance unit, a conveyance path, a double-sided conveyance path, and first and second charge eliminators. The conveyance unit conveys a recording medium having first and second surfaces in a first direction through the conveyance path to a recording area where recording is performed by a recording unit on the first surface. The recording medium then passes through the double-sided conveyance path before recording is performed on the second surface. The first charge eliminator eliminates charges from the first surface and is disposed at a position downstream of a junction between the conveyance path and the double-sided conveyance path in the first direction and upstream of the recording area in the first direction. The second charge eliminator eliminate charges from the second surface and is disposed downstream of the junction in the first direction and upstream of the recording area in the first direction.
Sheet discharge device and image forming apparatus
A sheet discharge device includes a discharge unit including a drive roller, to be rotated by a drive source driving force, a driven roller to be driven by the drive roller, and a static elimination unit located downstream from the discharge unit in a sheet discharge direction. The discharge unit discharges a sheet out of a discharge nip portion between the drive roller and the driven roller. The static elimination unit eliminates electric charge from the sheet to be discharged. The static elimination unit includes a static elimination cloth having electroconductive fiber and facing the sheet to be discharged and includes a support member supporting the static elimination cloth. The static elimination cloth is located so that a static elimination plane of the static elimination cloth, constituting a virtual plane facing the sheet, is substantially parallel to a virtual tangent line extending from the discharge nip portion.

An image forming system includes: an image forming apparatus configured to form an image on a recording medium; a post-processing apparatus configured to perform post-processing on the recording medium on which an image is formed by the image forming apparatus; a relay apparatus having a function of changing a transport speed of the recording medium on which an image is formed by the image forming apparatus to a transport speed of the post-processing apparatus and transporting the recording medium to a subsequent stage; and a charge eliminating apparatus configured to perform charge elimination on the recording medium that is charged, by reducing a charge amount of the charged recording medium, and the charge eliminating apparatus is provided at a stage that is after the relay apparatus and before the post-processing apparatus.

A sheet separation device includes a sheet separator and a conveyor. The sheet separator separates a non-bonding portion of a two-ply sheet in which two sheets are overlapped and bonded together at a bonding portion of the two-ply sheet. The conveyor conveys the two-ply sheet toward the sheet separator while bending the two-ply sheet in a direction that intersects a conveyance direction of the two-ply sheet.

A sheet-processing machine includes a turning device. Sheets can be conveyed, by a sheet conveyor system, from a sheet guide cylinder in the turning device, and can be conveyed in a sheet conveyor direction on a sheet conveyor path. A sheet guide element is provided beneath or along the sheet conveyor path. A deionization device is assigned to the sheet guide element. The deionization device can provide positive and negative ions.

Reel-up for winding a paper web into a roll and a method of winding a paper web to form a roll
The invention relates to a reel-up (2) for receiving and winding into a roll (3) a paper web (W) that arrives from a drying cylinder (17) in a paper making machine (1). The reel-up (2) comprises a rotatably mounted reel spool (4) onto which a paper web (W) can be wound to create a paper roll (3) of increasing diameter and an endless flexible belt (5) mounted for rotation along a predetermined path of travel such that the flexible belt (5) forms a loop. The flexible belt (5) is positioned adjacent to the reel spool (4) to engage the paper web (W) against the reel spool (4) during winding such that the flexible belt (5) is deflected from the predetermined path of travel. According to the invention, the endless flexible belt (5) comprises electrically conductive material such that static electricity in the flexible belt (5) is dissipated away from the flexible belt (5). The invention also relates to a paper making machine in which the inventive reel-up is used and to a method of winding a paper web.
Sheet feeding device
A sheet feeding device includes a feeding guide of resin material constituting a sheet feeding path along which a sheet is fed; a feeding roller for feeding the sheet along the feeding path, the feeding roller being provided with a metal shaft; a sheet sensor configured to detect the sheet fed along the sheet feeding path; and a grounding member electrically grounding the shaft. The feeding guide has a guiding surface for guiding the sheet, and the guiding surface is provided with a hole portion for exposing the shaft to the sheet feeding path.
