A sheet feed apparatus includes a sheet feed cassette, an air blowing device, and an air blowing control portion. The air blowing device blows warm air to a sheet stack in the sheet feed cassette. The air blowing control portion controls the air blowing device to adjust an air volume and a temperature of the warm air. The air blowing control portion adjusts the air volume and the temperature of the warm air in accordance with the amount of sheets in the sheet feed cassette.

The sheet feeding apparatus includes a frame body and a locking member provided on an upper part of the frame body, the locking member being configured to be movable between a locking position where the frame body is locked to the image forming apparatus and a releasing position where the locking of the frame body is released, wherein in attaching the heating unit to an attaching position of the frame body, the locking member is configured to restrict a movement of the heating unit to the attaching position by interfering with the heating unit when the locking member is located at the releasing position and to allow a movement of the heating unit to the attaching position when the locking member is located at the locking position.

The contacting member contains a substrate, a fluororesin fiber layer, an adhesive layer, and a mixed layer. The fluororesin fiber layer contains a fluororesin fiber and is configured to contact the contacted member. The adhesive layer contains an adhesive member directly or indirectly fixing the fluororesin fiber layer to the substrate. In the mixed layer, the fluororesin fiber in the fluororesin layer and the adhesive member in the adhesive layer are mixed. A thickness of the mixed layer is from 5% or more and 60% or less with respect to a thickness of the fluororesin fiber layer.

The detector is configured to be able to detect the load of the driving unit when the medium is peeled from the transporting belt by the peeling device, and the control unit controls the heating unit on the basis of a detection result from the detector.
