Method of operating a flat-bed die cutter
In a method of operating a flat-bed die-cutter a printing substrate in the form of a web is fed to a die-cutting module of the flat-bed die-cutter, a web section is severed from the web and removed as waste. The web is guided through the die-cutting module and the web section is severed from the web in or downstream of the die-cutting module and removed as waste. Products are thus formed by die-cutting a web while reducing waste and periods of standstill.

A sheet processing apparatus includes a first conveyance rotary member, a second conveyance rotary member, a punch member, a sensor, a punch motor, a conveyance motor, a first drive transmission portion including a first number of drive transmission members configured to sequentially transmit driving force of the conveyance motor to the first conveyance rotary member, and a second drive transmission portion including a second number of drive transmission members configured to sequentially transmit driving force of the conveyance motor to the second conveyance rotary member, the second number being larger than the first number.
MANUFACTURING METHOD OF HALF-CUT DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE AND HALF-CUT DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE STICKING DEVICE
To provide a half-cut double-sided tape from a double-sided tape with a release-liner commercially available in the market by means of a simple process without contacting a cutter blade directly to an adhesive layer when making the half cuts in the half-cut process. The invention includes: a processing protection layer formation step of feeding a protect release paper tape having the release surface to the double-sided tape to form a processing protection layer on the double-sided tape with the release liner; a half-cut step of continuously performing half-cut together with the processing protection layer and the double-sided tape on the release liner while leaving only the release liner, and making a number of the double-sided tape pieces of proper length are held on the release liner; a half-cut double-sided tape winding step of winding the half-cut double-sided tape with the release liner while peeling off the processing protection layer. A cut trace has a fully cut region in the width direction of the double-sided tape on the release liner and a non-cut region in the width direction of the protect release paper tape, so that the peeling is facilitated.
METHOD OF PRODUCING EAR LOOP MEMBERS FOR MASKS AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING EAR LOOP MEMBERS FOR MASKS
Provided are a method of producing ear loop members for masks and a device for producing ear loop members for masks with which it is possible to inhibit a reduction in the production efficiency of the masks. The method of producing ear loop members (4) for masks includes a conveyance step (S2), a tension adjustment step (S3), and a forming step (S4). In the conveyance step (S2), a sheet (U1) having high stretchability in a high-stretch direction (DH) is conveyed in a conveyance direction (C10) running along the high-stretch direction (DH) while tension is applied in the high-stretch direction (DH) to the sheet (U1). In the tension adjustment step (S3), the tension in the conveyed sheet (U1) is adjusted. In the forming step (S4), ear loop members (4) are formed by cutting the sheet (U1) after the tension adjustment.
Sheet processing machine comprising at least one infeed system, and method for controlling an infeed system of a sheet processing machine
In some examples, a sheet processing machine includes at least one infeed system including at least one transport means including at least one upper holder and at least one lower holder. The at least one transport means can be and/or is arranged in at least three states: a maximally closed state corresponding to a minimal distance, a minimally closed state corresponding to a maximal distance, and an at least one mean state corresponding to at least one mean distance between at least one upper holding surface at least of the respective upper holder, and at least one lower holding surface of the lower holder of the at least one transport means that is assigned to the respective upper holder. During a machine cycle, the at least one transport means has each of the minimally closed state, the maximally closed state, and the at least one mean state at least once.
Label stacking machine and method
A device for stacking a plurality of partially connected labels into a plurality of partially connected pads of labels comprises a robot arm having at least one vacuum source configured to selectively supply a vacuum force. The device also includes a plate coupled to the robot arm and a flexible pad coupled to the plate and including a plurality of apertures configured to direct the majority of the vacuum force through the flexible pad to a surface of the plurality of partially connected labels.
DEVICE FOR PROCESSING A CONTINUOUS WEB
A device for processing a continuous web includes a feed station for feeding the web in a feed direction towards a cutting station for cutting the web to a cutting length into individual segments of web that are disc-shaped. A further feed station feeds each segment. A first cutting unit cuts the web into the segments and a second cutting unit includes a cutting element configured to sever the web across a full width in a direction transverse to the feed direction. A drive unit is configured to issue a command to move the cutting element from a non-operating position, where the web is fed by the feed station to the first cutting unit through the second cutting unit, to an operating position, where the web is severed by the cutting element to interrupt feeding of the web to the first cutting unit.
Method for feeding a web of printing material in a manufacturing system for producing packages
A method for feeding a web of printing material in a manufacturing system for producing packages, includes feeding the web from a web-fed printing press to a flat-bed machine for die-cutting or embossing while the printing press is in operation. An inserting device is used for winding the web onto an auxiliary wind-up device, moving a web-guiding element having a roller in a compensatory manner to achieve a temporary standstill of the web by converting a continuous movement of the web into an iterative movement by changing a speed of the web through changes of position of the roller, clamping the web while being cut by using a clamping unit, cross-cutting the web creating a cross cut edge by using a cutting unit adjacent the clamping unit, and inserting the web, cross cut edge first, into the flat-bed machine for at least one of die-cutting or embossing.
Systems and methods of applying materials to components
Disclosed are systems for applying materials to components. The system comprises a tool operable for transferring a portion of a material from a supply of the material to a component. A first portion of the tool may be configured for cutting along a side or edge of the portion of the material. A second portion of the tool may be configured for tamping, pressing, or pushing against the portion of the material to cause uncut sides or edges of the portion of the material attached to the supply of the material to be torn, severed, detached, or separated from the supply of the material.
System and method for cutting a metallic film
A method for cutting a metallic film is disclosed. The method includes: feeding the metallic film between a scoring blade and an anvil at a first speed; feeding a first protective film between the metallic film and the scoring blade; feeding a second protective film between the metallic film and the anvil; moving the scoring blade toward the anvil for applying a pressure onto the first protective film, the metallic film, and the second protective film disposed between the scoring blade and the anvil for making a score along a width of the protective film; and pulling the metallic film having passed between the scoring blade and the anvil at a second speed. The second speed being greater than the first speed. A difference between the first and second speeds causes the metallic film to cut at the score. A system for cutting a metallic film is also disclosed.
