11577483 · 2023-02-14 · ·

A dunnage conversion system includes a machine for converting a stock material into a strip of relatively lower-density dunnage, a coiling mechanism for winding the strip into a coil, a taping mechanism for automatically securing a trailing end of the strip to the coil, and a coil ejecting mechanism for automatically removing the coil from the coiling mechanism. The taping mechanism includes a guide surface between an outlet of the machine and the coiling mechanism to guide the strip to the coiling mechanism and to guide tape for engagement with a trailing end of the strip and to secure the trailing end of the strip to the coil. The coil ejecting mechanism includes a lever arm that pivots to push the completed coil off the coiling mechanism.

Convertible printed product collecting assembly

A convertible printed product collecting assembly (10) includes a collecting fabric (11) rolled on a rotatable fabric bearing rod. Supporting legs (13) have a lower end tiltably connected to a printer (18) and are tillable in the collecting fabric's longitudinal direction. A tensioning and locking mechanism (15, 16) is arranged to release or to lock the fabric bearing rod to rotate. Stabilizing brackets (14) secure the supporting legs (13) in at least one tilting angle. The tensioning and locking mechanism (15, 16) is operable to tension and to hold the collecting fabric (11) in a flat, tensioned shape when in the locking state so as to provide a receiving desk for the printed product. Further, the collecting fabric (11) forms a collecting bag when unreeled from the fabric bearing rod.

Image Forming Apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum, a light exposure device, a developing device, a fixing unit disposed opposite to the light exposure device relative to the developing device, a sheet supply tray disposed below the developing device, an ejection tray disposed above the developing device and having a sheet receiving surface inclined downward, relative to a horizontal direction, toward the charger, and a sheet conveying path through which a sheet is conveyed from the sheet supply tray to the ejection tray. A lowest end portion of the sheet receiving surface is disposed below an upper end of the charger in the vertical direction. The charger is disposed opposite to the developing device relative to the lowest end portion of the sheet receiving surface.

MEDIUM TRANSPORT APPARATUS AND IMAGE READING APPARATUS
20230234801 · 2023-07-27 ·

A medium transport apparatus includes a main body that is switchable between a first posture and a second posture and a rotatable route-forming member that forms an exterior of a turning route. The route-forming member couples a first transport route to a second transport route when the main body has the first posture and couples the first transport route to a third transport route when the main body has the second posture. The medium transport apparatus further includes a transport route switching section having a switching member that engages with both the body support and the route-forming member. In response to switching between the first posture and the second posture of the main body, engagement of the switching member with the main-body support changes to rotate the route-forming member and to switch the medium transport route to which the first transport route is coupled.

Sheet stop mechanism, image forming apparatus

A sheet stop mechanism includes a sheet stopper and a support mechanism. The sheet stopper is formed on a sheet stacking surface. The support mechanism supports the sheet stopper to be rotatable between a stored state and a standing state, wherein in the stored state, the sheet stopper is stored in the sheet stacking surface, and in the standing state, the sheet stopper stands from the sheet stacking surface diagonally upward toward a downstream in the sheet discharge direction. When the sheet stopper is in the standing state, the support mechanism supports the sheet stopper in such a manner that an angle formed between the sheet stopper and the sheet stacking surface becomes small as sheets stacked on the sheet stacking surface increase in number.

SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

A rotating body unit includes a rotating body and a frame body. The frame body includes a pair of bearing portions. A mounting portion includes a pair of opposing walls facing each other in a width direction, a mounting space formed between the opposing walls, a pair of bearing support members, and a pair of biasing members. The bearing support members are supported by the opposing walls to be movable in the width direction. The biasing members bias the bearing support members inward in the width direction. When the rotating body unit is inserted into the mounting space, the bearing portions abut on a pair of guide surfaces of the bearing support members and move the bearing support members from support positions to retraction positions, and the bearing support members move from the retraction positions to the support positions to support the bearing portions.

A rotating body unit includes a pair of bearing portions and a first engagement portion. A pair of bearing support members support the bearing portions when at support positions, and release the bearing portions when at retraction positions. An auxiliary tool includes a pair of arm portions and a second engagement portion. When the auxiliary tool is engaged with the rotating body unit mounted in the mounting portion, the arm portions abut on and move the bearing support members from the support positions to the retraction positions. The second engagement portion engages with the first engagement portion after the bearing support members move to the retraction positions. As the auxiliary tool is separated from the mounting portion with the second engagement portion engaging with the first engagement portion, the rotating body unit is pulled out of the mounting space integrally with the auxiliary tool.

RECORDING APPARATUS
20230029136 · 2023-01-26 ·

A recording apparatus includes a housing configured to house a recording portion recording an image on a sheet and to have a side including an opening through which the sheet passes, a tray configured to rotate about a rotation shaft, relative to the housing, between a closed position at a first angle for closing the opening and an open position at a second angle for loading the sheet, and an urging mechanism configured to urge the tray toward the closed position when an angle about the rotation shaft of the tray is between the first angle and a third angle and to urge the tray toward the open position when an angle about the rotation shaft of the tray is between the third angle and the second angle. The third angle is an angle between the first angle and the second angle.

Printer

A printer has a lower module and upper module. The lower module has a paper feed unit and a printing unit. A back of the upper module is hinged to lower module. A paper handling part holds paper after printing by the printing unit. A discharge unit in the upper module moves the paper out of the upper module while maintaining a hold on a rear portion of the paper and to draw the paper back into the upper module after an elapse of time. A container includes a support member that rotates into contact with and moves away from a lower part of the upper module. The container configured to receive and store the paper that has been drawn back by the discharge unit. The paper is stored in a region between the support member and the lower part of the upper module.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING A LENGTH OF PADDING MATERIAL

In a method for processing a cushioning material strand, which is produced by a cushioning conversion machine from a web-shaped stock material (e.g. a roll or a leporello stack, for example of paper), the cushioning material strand is wound around a winding center into a cushioning material winding and is compressed during winding into the cushioning material winding.
