A paper feeding roll 10 is provided with an axial body 12 and an elastic layer 14 formed on an outer periphery of the axial body 12. The circumferential surface of the elastic layer 14 has a plurality of projections 16 forming surface unevenness. Each projection 16 of the plurality of projections 16 is shaped such that a position X of a distal-end part preceding in an opposite direction to a paper feeding direction precedes, in the opposite direction to the paper feeding direction, a position Y of a base-end part preceding in the opposite direction to the paper feeding direction.

A conveyor device for conveying a single face corrugated web on a bridge is disclosed. The conveyor device includes a lower guide roller, around which the single face corrugated web is guided. The conveyor device further includes an upper pinching and conveyance nip formed by a pair of nip members in pressure contact with one another. At least one of the nip members is motor-driven. The pinching and conveyance nip is configured to pull the single face corrugated web upwards from the lower guide roller.

An improved elastomer covered feed roll assembly (32R) for use in a feed/pull roll set combination (36) in a sheet finishing machine (12) comprises a roll core (50) having a cylindrical surface (60) with multiple longitudinally spaced and circumferentially offset elongated keyways (80, 82, 84, 86) each configured as a locking slot. Multiple replaceable flexible feed cover sections (52, 54, 56) each incorporating a flexible backing (120) and an elastomeric layer or coating (122) are removably mounted on the roll core by locking components (74, 76) on opposite ends (70, 72) of each of said replaceable flexible feed cover sections, the locking components of each replaceable flexible feed cover section engaging a locking slot (80, 82, 84, 86) corresponding to the feed cover section. The keyways draw together the opposite ends (70, 72) of corresponding cover sections to form corresponding end joints (96, 98, 100).

Coated, Grooved Roll for Converting Line
A coated grooved roll is adapted for use on a web feed press of a converting processing line. The outer diameter surface has a coating adapted to repel adhesive and ink. In one aspect the roll is an idler roll. The outer diameter surface has a region with a plurality of circumferential grooves and adjacent lands each with an arcuate shape with a radius of between about 0.003 inches and about 0.007 inches after coating. In another aspect, the roll is a stripping roll with at least one flute adapted and configured to receive a contact assistance ring. On the outer diameter surface, the flat adjacent the flute has a plurality of circumferential grooves and adjacent lands each with an arcuate shape with a radius of between about 0.003 inches and about 0.007 inches after coating.
PAPER FEED ROLLER
A paper feed roller that can prevent paper sheet transport failure caused by accumulation of paper powder for a long period of time is provide. This paper feed roller includes a shaft body and an elastic body layer formed on the outer periphery of the shaft body. Unevenness are formed by protrusions on the circumferential surface of the elastic body layer. The protrusions are arranged on the circumferential surface of the elastic body layer in a direction different from an axial direction. The gap between a row of protrusions which extends in the direction different from the axial direction and a row of protrusions which is parallel to the row of protrusions is a continuous recess, i.e., a groove, and the width of the groove is greater than the distance between the protrusions in the row of protrusions which extends in the direction different from the axial direction.
