Isolated film tension and steering system
A film tensioning and steering system can be configured to extract a film from a film source. One or more film characteristics can require that the film tensioning and steering system be isolated from the film source so that a film tension can be maintained within the film tensioning and steering system. A first drive roller pair and a second drive roller pair can be configured to secure the film and enable a dampening roller to maintain the film tension between the first drive roller pair and the second drive roller pair. Additionally, the dampening roller can store an amount of the film as a film buffer. Accordingly, the film tensioning and steering system can maintain the film tension such that a steering system can align the film before the first drive roller pair provides the film at a proper alignment to a downstream system.
SHEET CONVEYING APPARATUS
A conveying apparatus for feeding sheets into a processing apparatus is discloses which comprises a plurality of nips within which sheets are gripped and driven along a conveying direction towards the processing apparatus, each nip being defined between a respective drive wheel and an opposing reaction surface. The drive wheels are omni-wheels configured to apply a frictional force to advance the sheets in the conveying direction while permitting free movement of the sheets in a direction transverse to the conveying direction, the reaction surfaces permitting free movement of the sheets in the transverse direction, and an elongate guide is arranged on one side of the conveying apparatus, to extend generally parallel to the conveying direction, the conveying apparatus being configured to urge conveyed sheets in the transverse direction into contact with the guide. A control system is provided to move the guide generally in the transverse direction in dependence upon sensed fiducials on the conveyed sheets, to ensure correct alignment of the sheets in the transverse direction with respect to the processing apparatus.
TRANSPORT DEVICE, PRINTING APPARATUS, AND TRANSPORT CONTROLLING METHOD
Provided are: a holding unit configured to rotatably hold a roll body on which a medium is wound; a transport unit configured to transport the medium unwound from the roll body; a tension applying unit configured to press the medium between the holding unit and the transport unit to apply tension to the medium; a driving portion configured to provide driving force to the tension applying unit; a control unit configured to control the transport unit and the driving portion; and a detector configured to detect a load applied to the transport unit, and the control unit controls the driving force by the driving portion on the basis of the load detected by the detector to adjust the tension applied to the medium.
VARIABLE WEB TENSIONING
A system (300) is provided having a printer (4) to print printing liquid onto a web (6) of media (8). The system (300) has a winding roller (10) on which to roll the web (6) of media (8) after printing. A tensioner (12) to vary the tension in a portion (14) of the web (6) of media (8) is also provided. The portion (14) is a portion of web which is being rolled onto the winding roller (10). Also provided is controller (16) to control the tensioner (12) to vary the tension based on the time taken for the printed printing liquid on the web (6) of media (8) to dry.
Conveyor device for a corrugated web, corrugated board manufacturing line including the conveyor device, and method
A conveyor device for conveying a single face corrugated web on a bridge is disclosed. The conveyor device includes a lower guide roller, around which the single face corrugated web is guided. The conveyor device further includes an upper pinching and conveyance nip formed by a pair of nip members in pressure contact with one another. At least one of the nip members is motor-driven. The pinching and conveyance nip is configured to pull the single face corrugated web upwards from the lower guide roller.
Sheet transport system
A sheet transport system for moving a sheet in a transport direction while adjusting a position of the sheet in a lateral direction normal to the transport direction to a target position, includes first and second pinch roller sets spaced apart from one another in the transport direction, each pinch roller set including two pairs of pinch rollers spaced apart from one another in the lateral direction, each pair forming a nip for pinching and driving the sheet with an individually controllable speed; a detection system for detecting a position of the sheet in the lateral direction while the sheet is pinched by the first pinch roller set; and a control system configured for carrying out the following actions: by controlling the speeds of the pinch rollers of the first pinch roller set before the sheet has reached the second pinch roller set, rotating the sheet by a first rotation angle for adjusting a given reference point on a leading part of the sheet to its target position; and when the sheet has left the first pinch roller set and while the reference point travels along a path segment that is symmetric with respect to the second pinch roller set, rotating, by controlling the speeds of the pinch rollers of the second pinch roller set, the sheet by a second rotation angle for aligning a leading edge of the sheet in the lateral direction.
LOG EJECTION GROUP AND RELATIVE EJECTION METHOD
Described is a log ejection group in a rewinding machine that includes an unloading plane of wound logs and a means for slowing down the logs associated with the unloading plane. The slowing down means includes a motorized upper inlet roller to intercept the logs arriving on the unloading plane and a pair of motorized handling rollers located downstream of the upper inlet roller. The pair includes an upper handling roller and a lower handling roller. The lower handling roller is integrated into the unloading plane. The upper inlet roller and the upper handling roller are arranged on an upper structure, which is adjustable in height. The angular speed of the upper inlet roller is greater than the angular speed of the upper handling roller. A method for ejecting a log using the log ejection group is also described.
RECORDING DEVICE
A recording device includes a recording unit configured to discharge liquid onto a medium to perform recording, a transport unit configured to transport the medium at a position facing the recording unit, a transport unit downstream roller pair located downstream the transport unit in a medium transport path and configured to transport the medium, a restricting roller being a roller configured to restrict movement of a medium back end region upstream the transport unit downstream roller pair in the medium transport path toward the recording unit side, and including a plurality of teeth along an outer periphery thereof, and a guide member being a member configured to support the restricting roller, and guiding the medium.
