A post-processing apparatus includes a conveyance unit, a discharge port, a tray, an elevation unit, a detection unit, and a control unit. The conveyance unit conveys a print medium supplied from an image forming apparatus. The discharge port discharges the print medium conveyed by the conveyance unit. The tray is stacked with the print medium discharged from the discharge port and can be raised and lowered in a vertical direction. The elevation unit raises and lower the tray in the vertical direction. The detection unit detects a top surface of an uppermost print medium of one or more sheets of print media stacked on the tray. The control unit controls the conveyance unit and the elevation unit and hold a relative position of the top surface with respect to the discharge port if the print medium is discharged from the discharge port at a first position. The control unit causes the conveyance unit to convey the print medium at a first speed if a discharge time from a first timing indicating the timing relating to discharge of the print medium from the discharge port to a second timing indicating the timing when the print medium is detected by the detection unit is a first time and causes the conveyance unit to convey the print medium at a second speed different from the first speed if the discharge time is a second time.

A container member includes a container body that contains a recording medium and that tilts such that a leading edge of the contained recording medium is higher than a trailing edge, and a leading edge restriction portion that comes into contact with a portion of the leading edge except for at least a first end portion and that restricts a position of the leading edge.

A sheet stacker includes a tray to store a stack of sheets, a conveyor above the tray, a leading end guide above the tray, and an air exhaust. The conveyor conveys a sheet in a conveyance direction. The leading end guide is downstream from the conveyor in the conveyance direction. The leading end guide guides the sheet from the conveyor to the tray. The air exhaust exhausts air above an upper surface of the stack of sheets on the tray to an upstream from the tray in the conveyance direction. Further, the leading end guide holds a leading end of the sheet conveyed by the conveyor at a holding position and releases the leading end of the sheet at a release position downstream from the holding position in the conveyance direction.

A post-processing apparatus includes a conveyance unit, a discharge port, a tray, an elevation unit, a detection unit, and a control unit. The control unit causes the conveyance unit to convey the print medium at a first speed if a discharge time from a first timing indicating the timing relating to discharge of the print medium from the discharge port to a second timing indicating the timing when the print medium is detected by the detection unit is a first time and causes the conveyance unit to convey the print medium at a second speed different from the first speed if the discharge time is a second time.

A sheet conveyance apparatus includes a casing, an electric cable including a conductor and an insulator configured to cover the conductor, and a guide member attached to the casing and configured to guide the electric cable, wherein the guide member includes a wire-forming member formed of a metal wire, and wherein the electric cable is wired along the guide member with at least one of the electric cable and the guide member twisted around the other of the electric cable and the guide member.

A supply device configured to supply a medium to a processing unit configured to perform processing on the medium, the supply device including an accommodating unit configured to accommodate a plurality of the media in a state of being stacked therein and a vibration imparting unit configured to contact ends of the plurality of media accommodated in the accommodating unit to impart vibration to the medium.

The present disclosure provides an apparatus to support a sheet and configured to stably detect a presence of the sheet with a simple arrangement, and an image forming apparatus including such apparatus. A sheet discharging apparatus includes an apparatus body, a discharge member provided in the apparatus body and configured to discharge a sheet, a movable tray movable with respect to the apparatus body and including a sheet supporting surface configured to support the sheet discharged by the discharge member, a movable member supported by the movable tray and configured to move by being pressed by the sheet supported on the sheet supporting surface, and a detecting portion provided in the apparatus body and configured to detect a presence of the sheet supported on the sheet supporting surface in response to a position of the movable member.

A sheet supporting apparatus includes a body, a supporting portion configured to be held in an elevating manner by the body and to support a sheet, a sheet regulation portion regulating a position of the sheet supported on the supporting portion, a movement portion capable of moving between a first position where the sheet regulation portion regulates the position of the sheet supported on the supporting portion, and a second position where the supporting portion is regulated from elevating with respect to the body, and a movement regulation unit regulating the movement portion from moving to the second position.

A cassette in which sheets are stacked is electable from an apparatus main body. An intermediate plate is provided in the cassette that is movable to raise and lower the stacked sheets. A securing member that restricts the cassette from being raised when at a restricted position is provided, where, in response to movement of ejecting the stacking unit from the apparatus main body, the securing member moves to a permitted position that enables the movable member to rise.

A sheet feeder, which is included in an image forming apparatus, includes a sheet loader, an air blowing device, a regulator, a sheet attracting device, and a sheet conveying body. The sheet loader loads a sheet bundle including a sheet and a subsequent sheet placed below the sheet. The air blowing device blows air and lifts the sheet over the sheet bundle. The regulator regulates movement of the subsequent sheet, and includes an opposing portion located upper end and separated from the sheet loader toward the downstream side of the sheet conveying direction and an inclined portion upwardly inclined relative to a vertical axis from a same position as the sheet loader to the downstream side of the sheet conveying direction. The sheet attracting device attracts the sheet lifted over the sheet bundle. The sheet conveying body conveys the sheet in a sheet conveying direction.
