The provided containers (100, 200) and methods provide for gravitational alignment of a plurality of stacked articles (120), in which at least two edges (140, 142) of each article align along inner walls (108, 114, 208, 214) of a respective container. The aligning walls of the container are provided with low-friction surfaces to facilitate sliding and alignment of the articles. By aligning the stack of articles along two edges, the articles can be registered relative to not only each other but the container itself, thereby facilitating loading, unloading, and conversion of articles in the stack. Optionally, a compressible layer (147) opposing one or both of the aligning walls conforms and distributes stress along the non-aligning edges, thereby preserving registration of the articles relative to each other when the container is transported.

In one example, a photo cassette for a mobile printer includes a support surface to support a stack of photo media sheets, a cover to at least partially cover the stack of photo media sheets, and a window formed in the cover to receive a pinch mechanism of the mobile printer through the window to provide a normal force to the stack of photo media sheets.

The output tray comprises a spool, a guide member, and a sheet attached between to the spool and the guide member. The guide member is movable between a stowed and one or more deployed positions. The sheet is deployed from a stored configuration to one or more in-use positions upon movement of the guide member.

A second right-side extension portion entirely overlaps with a first right-side extension portion in a stored state when viewed in a depth direction, and a second left-side extension portion entirely overlaps a first left-side extension portion in a stored state when viewed in the depth direction. A sheet conveying device includes: a housing; a sheet supply tray; and a dust proof cover including a first cover and a second cover. The sheet supply tray is supported to the housing and pivotally movable between a closed position and an open position. The first cover is supported to the housing and pivotally movable between a first position in proximity to the sheet supply tray and a second position away from the sheet supply tray. The second cover is connected to the first cover and pivotally movable about a second pivot axis between a third position in proximity to the sheet supply tray and a fourth position away from the sheet supply tray. The second cover has a center of gravity positioned closer to the housing than the second pivot axis is to the housing in a state where the sheet supply tray is in the closed position.

A sheet transport apparatus includes a first casing in which a transport path is formed; a transport unit which transports a sheet along the transport path; a second casing which is provided to be movable with respect to the first casing; a sheet support unit which is rotatably provided in the first casing at a position on a side to which the second casing is moved, the sheet support unit being changeable between a first state, a second state, and a third state and supporting the sheet at least in the third state; and an urging unit which urges the sheet support unit toward the first state within a range from the first state to the second state and which urges the sheet support unit toward the third state within a range from the second state to the third state.

A medium storage box includes an internal storage space configured to store a paper sheet-shaped medium. The medium storage box includes: a first opening into which an insertion member is inserted from outside; a second opening through which the medium passes; a first shutter member that closes off the first opening; a second shutter member that closes off the second opening; and a biasing mechanism that biases either the first shutter member, or the second shutter member, or both, in a closing direction. The first shutter member is configured to be pressed by the insertion member and moves in an opening direction during insertion of the insertion member, such that a portion of the first shutter member abuts the second shutter member and moves the second shutter member in an opening direction.

A sheet transport apparatus includes a first casing in which a transport path is formed; a transport unit which transports a sheet along the transport path; a second casing which is provided to be movable with respect to the first casing; a sheet support unit which is rotatably provided in the first casing at a position on a side to which the second casing is moved, the sheet support unit being changeable between a first state, a second state, and a third state and supporting the sheet at least in the third state; and an urging unit which urges the sheet support unit toward the first state within a range from the first state to the second state and which urges the sheet support unit toward the third state within a range from the second state to the third state.
