Stacking device and image forming apparatus
A stacking device which is detachably attached to an apparatus body of an image forming apparatus having an abutting member that abuts on a recording material and on which a recording material is stacked includes: a first supporting unit that supports the recording material from a lower side of the recording material; and a second supporting unit that supports an end of the recording material in an attachment/detachment direction of the stacking device. The second supporting unit includes a corresponding region, and a position of the corresponding region agrees with a position of the abutting member abut with the recording material in a width direction which is orthogonal to the attachment/detachment direction. At least a height of the corresponding region in a direction orthogonal to the attachment/detachment direction and the width direction is lower than a height of the abutting member.

A medium conveyance path switching device include: a support unit located at a branch point of a conveyance path at which a conveying direction for a medium converges from three directions; a gate assembly including gates to guide the medium to different conveyance paths at the branch point; and a rotation mechanism configured to selectively rotate the gates. The support unit includes: a first support piece having a first through-hole portion; a second support piece having a second through-hole portion and disposed on one side of the first support piece; a third support piece having a third through-hole portion and disposed on the other side of the first support piece; a first bending connection part pivotably connecting one end of the first support piece and the second support piece; and a second bending connection part pivotably connecting the other end of the first support piece and the third support piece.

An example method for picking a media sheet from a media tray, the method comprising: controlling a media picker to perform a pick procedure to pick the media sheet from the media tray; upon detecting an error condition in the pick procedure, translating the media sheet in a direction within a plane of the media sheet; and controlling the media picker to retry the pick procedure to pick the media sheet from the media tray.
OUTPUT TRAY HAVING A MOVABLE SECTION
According to examples, an apparatus may include an input tray coupled to a media path and an output tray to receive media from the media path. The output tray may be automatically positioned to an open position based on the media being inputted into the input tray. A movable section may be movably coupled to the output tray. In some examples, the movable section may automatically move relative to the output tray based on the output tray being automatically positioned to the open position.

An accommodating device includes a device body, an accommodating unit that is movable to a supply position where a user is able to supply a medium by being pulled out from the device body in a pulling direction and of which a centroid position is located on one side surface side with respect to a center in an intersecting direction with the pulling direction, a first expanding and contracting member that expands and contracts to connect the accommodating unit to the device body so as to be able to be pulled out and is fixed to one side surface of the accommodating unit in the intersecting direction, and a second expanding and contracting member that expands and contracts to connect the accommodating unit to the device body so as to be able to be pulled out and is fixed at a position higher than the first expanding and contracting member on the other side surface of the accommodating unit in the intersecting direction.

A medium aligning device includes a stacking tray that stacks a medium discharged by a discharge section that discharges the medium, a side end aligning portion that is movable in a width direction that is a direction intersecting with a medium discharge direction of the discharge section, and positions and aligns a side end in the width direction of the medium stacked on the stacking tray, a rear end aligning portion that is movable in the width direction and positions and aligns a rear end that is an upstream end of the medium stacked on the stacking tray in the discharge direction, and a transmission portion that transmits the movement of the side end aligning portion in the width direction to the rear end aligning portion, in which a play in the width direction is provided between the side end aligning portion and the transmission portion.
CONVEYING APPARATUS AND TRAY UNIT
A conveying apparatus includes: receiving trays arranged vertically and has a lowest tray and a first receiving tray; a conveying mechanism; a supporter supporting the receiving trays; and a swing mechanism configured to swing the first receiving tray with respect to the supporter to one of a receiving position at which the first receiving tray receives a medium and an upper position. The swing mechanism is configured to: keep the first receiving tray at the upper position when a first external force directed in a direction in which the first receiving tray is moved from the upper position toward the receiving position is not applied to the first receiving tray located at the upper position; and swing the first receiving tray with respect to the supporter toward the receiving position when the first external force is applied to the first receiving tray.

Provided is a medium processing device including a supply portion supplying a medium, a transporter transporting the medium supplied from the supply portion, an contact portion that a tip of the medium transported by the transporter is brought into contact with, a stacker in which the medium brought into contact with the contact portion is stacked, and a processor processing the medium stacked in the stacker, in which the transporter includes a gripper that is configured to move along a transport path of the medium, grips a tip of the medium, and moves.

In some examples, the disclosure describes a device that includes a first media tray positioned at a media input of a pick and separation mechanism, a second media tray positioned at the media input of the pick and separation mechanism, a media scan guide to position a sheet of print media at the media input of the pick and separation mechanism, a shared media path comprising a turn roller to receive the sheet of print media from the pick and separation mechanism from a first direction and provide the sheet of print media to a print zone in a second direction, and an output zone to receive the sheet of print media from the shared media path.
