LIGHT DETECTION SENSOR, LIGHT DETECTION DEVICE, SHEET PROCESSING DEVICE, AND LIGHT DETECTION METHOD
A light detection sensor includes a light source that irradiates a detection target with light, a rod lens that collects emitted light from the detection target, a first light receiving element that detects the emitted light that has passed through the rod lens, and a second light receiving element that detects the emitted light that has passed through the rod lens, at a position different from a position at which the first light receiving element detects the light.
Arrangement and method for aligning at least one note of value
An apparatus for aligning notes of value along a transport path has a note reader with a scanning line with areas detection areas there along. The scanning areas are arranged along a line orthogonally with respect to a central axis of the transport path. A first and at least one second transport elements serve to transport the note along the transport path in at least one transport direction. The transport elements each contact the note in a contact area. At least one aligning apparatus is used for aligning the note, which is arranged between the first and second transport elements and forms a section of the transport path. The note reader detects the trailing edge of the note in a first scanning area and in a second scanning area.
MULTI-SHEET HANDLING FOR DOCUMENT DIGITIZATION
Systems and methods are provided for document handling. Non-vision detection systems may be capable of detecting the dimensions, orientation, and/or position of a single sheet, or multiple stacked sheets. A document scanning arrangement may be capable of double sided scanning for sheets with various characteristics. The systems and methods provided may accommodate high throughput and rapid digitization of various types of documents, at a high quality.
SENSOR UNIT AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS EQUIPPED WITH SAME
A sensor unit includes an edge detection sensor and an illumination device. The edge detection sensor is disposed in a conveying path of a recording medium and detects a recording medium edge position in a width direction perpendicular to a conveying direction. The illumination device is disposed to face the edge detection sensor in the conveying path and emits light toward the edge detection sensor. The illumination device includes a light source and a diffuser. The light source emits light. The diffuser diffuses the light from the light source and suppresses luminance unevenness.
Sheet feeder, document reader, and image forming apparatus
A sheet feeder picking up and transporting sheets includes a transport unit transporting sheets along a sheet transport path one by one, a gap occurrence detection unit detecting, within a predetermined section of the sheet transport path, occurrence of a gap between sheets, and a controller controlling a timing of the transport of sheets according to a result of the detection. The gap occurrence detection unit includes a first detection unit and a second detection unit. The first detection unit is configured to detect light that is emitted toward the predetermined section, reaches a converging surface thereof across the predetermined section, and converged on a receiving element thereof. The second detection unit is configured to detect light reflected by a sheet passing through the predetermined section. The occurrence of the gap is detected based on outputs from the first detection unit and the second detection unit.
PRINT MEDIA PRESSURE PLATES
Examples described herein include examples print media handling system including a first media guide assembly comprising a sensor assembly, and a second media guide assembly comprising a retractable pressure plate and disposed opposite the first media guide assembly to guide a print media along a path between the first media guide assembly and second media guide assembly, the pressure plate moveable about an axis perpendicular to the path between an actuated position and a retracted position.
Sheet stacking equipment
Equipment for stacking sheets with a stack support, input rollers for feeding entering sheets and transport belts with lower branches arranged above the stack support. A compensation mechanism modifies the height of the stack support, while the transport belts are motorized to drag the entering sheets with the lower branches and deposit the sheets on the stack support or on stacked sheets. An arrest member is provided for the entering sheets, a pressure member for the stack to be stacked and a sensor device for a last sheet of the stack. The arrest member arrests the sheets in stacking while the pressure member is contiguous to the stop member and operates on the last sheet of the stack with a stabilizing function and in which the compensation mechanism is servoized to the sensor, for maintaining constant the height of the last sheet of the stack from a reference plane.
