A sheet processing apparatus for processing sheets each with a wireless tag, includes a roller, a wireless tag reader/writer, and a controller configured to control the roller to convey a first sheet with a first tag along a path, control the reader/writer to acquire first strengths of radio signals received from the first tag during the conveyance and second strengths of radio signals received from wireless tags of sheets not being conveyed, determine a threshold value of signal strength for distinguishing a wireless tag being conveyed from wireless tags not being conveyed based on the first and second strengths, and control the roller to convey a second sheet with a second tag and control the reader/writer to write to the second tag when a strength of a radio signal from the second tag is greater than or equal to the threshold value.

The invention relates to a system for preparing a radiofrequency identification tag for attachment to a support, the system comprising a placement device configured to place the tag on the support, the placement device comprising a displacement member that is movable between a loading position and a placement position, and a holding member having a configuration for releasing the tag and a configuration for holding the tag, the holding member being in the configuration for holding the tag during a movement of the displacement member between the loading position and the placement position. The system makes it possible to automate the placement of the tag for its attachment to the support, for example a textile.

An image forming device capable of reducing resources related to destruction of a wireless tag is provided. The image forming device according to the present embodiment includes a reader and writer, a fixing unit, a determination unit, and a control unit. The reader and writer reads information from the wireless tag. The fixing unit heats and conveys a sheet having the wireless tag. The determination unit determines a defect of the wireless tag based on a reading result of the reader and writer. If the determination unit determines that the wireless tag is defective, the control unit controls the fixing unit to increase an amount of heat applied to the wireless tag such that information cannot be read from the wireless tag.

The method comprises providing a sheet of material, arranging the sheet on the core such that a first end of said sheet is not attached but loose from the core, arranging a first end of the material web between the core and the first end of the sheet, and reeling and tightening the rest of the material web on the core, the first end of the material web locating between the core and the first end of the sheet during said reeling and tightening.

A method for providing a stack of book covers for production of finished books includes supplying a task stack of book covers having identical cover formats and stacked one above another in an unknown or known sequence. Each book cover in the task stack includes an identifier comprising cover information. The book covers are separated out and conveyed from the task stack as separate book covers in a sequence that does not change until a completion signal is transmitted. The separated out book covers are counted, an identifier on each separated out book cover is detected, and cover information is read out of the respective identifier stored. The separated out book covers are deposited on top of one another in the sequence in which they were separated out for forming a detected stack. An identifier is stored that identifies the detected stack together with the temporarily stored cover information.

A method for printing a web of packaging material for packages holding liquid food products is provided. The method comprises receiving a web of packaging material, identifying a first register mark using a first sensor, determining a first register mark position based on the first register mark, determining a second register mark position area based on the first register mark position, identifying a second register mark within the second register mark position area using a second sensor and determining a second register mark position for the second register mark, determining a second area position of the second area based on the second register mark position, adjusting the web in relation to printer bars in accordance with the second area position, determining a second area position of the second area based on the second register mark position, and printing the second area by using the printer bars.

A wireless tag communication device can write information to a wireless tag on a sheet on the first and second paths and receive responses from the wireless tag. A controller controls the wireless tag communication device to attempt to write information to the wireless tag while on the first path, then determines whether information has been written to the wireless tag on the first path according to a response received from the wireless tag. The controller switches a conveyance destination for the sheet to the second path if the information has not been written or to a discharge location if the information has been written. The controller then controls the wireless tag communication device to attempt to write information to the wireless tag while the sheet is on the second path.
