METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SPLICING TWO SHEETS OF MATERIAL CONTAINING ALKALOIDS
A method for splicing two sheets of material containing alkaloids is provided, the method including: providing a first sheet of material containing alkaloids wound in a first bobbin; providing a second sheet of material containing alkaloids wound in a second bobbin; unwinding the first sheet wound in the first bobbin; evaluating one or more of the following parameters of the unwound first sheet: moisture, thickness, width, stickiness, and presence or absence of holes or tears; and depending on a value of the evaluated one or more parameters, unwinding the second sheet wound in the second bobbin, and splicing the first sheet and the second sheet. A system for splicing two sheets of material containing alkaloids is also provided.
Cooking Backsplash Assembly
A cooking backsplash assembly includes a pair of mounts that is each attachable to a vertical support surface at a location positioned over a cooking stove. A roller is positionable in the mounts when the mounts are mounted to the vertical support surface. The roller is biased to rotate in a first direction and the roller is urgeable to rotate in a second direction. A screen is wrapped around the roller when the roller rotates in the first direction. The screen is urgeable downwardly to urge the roller to rotate in the second direction to facilitate the screen to cover a wall located behind the cooking stove. The screen is comprised of a fluid impermeable material to protect the wall from cooking splatter. Additionally, the screen is comprised of a heat resistant material to resist being burned by heat from the cooking stove.
Leading/trailing edge detection system having vacuum belt with perforations
A vacuum belt has perforations between belt edges. Some perforations in the vacuum belt are arranged in a pattern. The vacuum belt is positioned adjacent the media supply in a location to move sheets of the print media from the media supply. A light sensor is positioned in a location to detect light passing through the vacuum belt. The light sensor detects a portion of the vacuum belt as limited by an aperture area of the vacuum belt, and the pattern of perforations, and the size and location of the aperture area of the vacuum belt causes the signal output by the light sensor to be constant when the sheets are outside the aperture area of the vacuum belt.
