CONTINOUS MANUFACTURING OF SURFACE WRINKLE FEATURES
Provided are systems and methods for inducing strain fields to give rise to controllable wrinkle patterns in a variety of substrates. Also provided are articles having persistent wrinkling patterns thereon.
ROLLER DEVICE FOR GUIDING A FLEXIBLE SUBSTRATE, USE OF A ROLLER DEVICE FOR TRANSPORTING A FLEXIBLE SUBSTRATE, VACUUM PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND METHOD OF PROCESSING A FLEXIBLE SUBSTRATE
A roller device for guiding a flexible substrate is described. The roller device includes a support surface for contacting the flexible substrate, the support surface having a coating comprising an electronegative polymer. Further, a vacuum processing apparatus for processing a flexible substrate including the roller device and a method of processing a flexible substrate in the vacuum processing apparatus is described.
ANTIBODY VARIANTS
Antibody variants of parent antibodies are disclosed which have one or more amino acids inserted in a hypervariable region of the parent antibody and a binding affinity for a target antigen which is at least about two fold stronger than the binding affinity of the parent antibody for the antigen.
Non-contact vibration suppression device and object processing method
The present invention provides a non-contact vibration suppression device comprising a first ultrasonic vibration unit and a second ultrasonic vibration unit, the device being characterized in that the first ultrasonic vibration unit and the second ultrasonic vibration unit are installed to face each other while being spaced from each other such that an object can be interposed therebetween, the first ultrasonic vibration unit and the second ultrasonic vibration unit generate ultrasonic vibrations, respectively, and apply repulsive forces, which result from the ultrasonic vibrations, to the object such that the object is constrained with no contact between the first ultrasonic vibration unit and the second ultrasonic vibration unit, thereby suppressing vibration of the object. In addition, the present invention provides an object processing method characterized by comprising the steps of: suppressing vibration of the object using the non-contact vibration suppression device; and processing the object, vibration of which has been suppressed.

HANDLING OF STACKED SUBSTRATES
A pneumatic device for transporting a substrate during a manufacturing operation is described. The pneumatic device can include multiple suction assemblies for securely coupling the substrate to the pneumatic device. The vertical position of the suction assemblies can be varied so that when vacuum is applied through the suction assemblies to the substrate, the substrate is in a bent configuration when secured to the pneumatic device. When the pneumatic device is used to lift the substrate off a stack of other substrates, the bending of the substrate reduces the surface area contact and likelihood of inadvertently removing additional substrates from the stack of substrates.
GLASS WEBS AND METHODS OF SPLICING
Glass web including a first glass-web portion (30), a second portion (40), and a splice joint (50) coupling the first glass-web portion to the second portion, wherein the slice joint includes a splice member (60) with at least one gas-permeable attachment portion. In further examples, methods of splicing a first glass-web portion to a second portion include the step of splicing the first glass-web portion to the second portion with a splice member, wherein the step of splicing includes attaching a gas-permeable attachment portion of the splice member to the first glass-web portion.
